One important distinction is intent.
Jan 6 had an intent to do exactly what it did, and quite likely more.
The current protests intent is protecting communities, the “violence” is a reaction and a response.

January 6 was an asinine event done with very little thought. Intent implies a plan with a goal. They got in, what did they plan for next? The answer is they didn't plan shit. No body with half a brain should have believed the lie our government was in any danger from that group of morons.

Just an angry mob that was allowed to cause massive damage while 26,000 enforcement personnel were told to stand down.

Someone brought the rope to tie the noose. The goal was clear, to overthrow the election process.

And anyone with half a brain understands that the intent that day was to stop the certification of the 2020 election.

The security didn't know he was a senator with valid purpose and reasonable intent because they turned off their hearing and thinking. Lackeys aren't paid to think.

On rare occasions police lock into tunnel brain and do the same thing. Hard to break through to their consciousness and achieve dialogue when that happens. Makes for bad PR.

Are we enjoying the trump ambiance yet? chocolate bar bet - how much worse can it get? it will !

Who put their retirement into trump crypto coin? it's a straight up honest sure thing, maybe

It was a press briefing that he was not part of. He walked in unannounced and started talking and walking towards the podium. The security did exactly what they should have done in that situation.

That is a near direct quote from Fox News. What makes you think that the Feds just allowed some large person of color to walk in the door during a press briefing?

When there is talk of a coup of their state's elected government what should a person do? (Serious question)

Dave, what do you think of Ashli Babbit's family winning $5m in lawsuit re her shooting during the capital riot?

And that many rioters are suing the govt.

Video footage shows him entering the room and immediately start talking. He is a government employee that had every right to be in the building but he was not involved or invited to this news briefing.

Believing that a group of pissed off misfits talking of a taking over the government and them having the ability to actually take over and run a government the size of ours has nothing to do with reality.

I think the whole thing was and still is a shit show that should never have happened.

Are you describing Kristi Noem as misfit?
I'm referring to her goal of liberation in California.
