why is 20 million for sesame street in Iraq a bad idea though? that seems a way better way to spend money than the 83 million we give Israel every single day to kill people and bulldoze houses. I am all for sesame street in Iraq for the record, after we spent billions a day to blow that place up at least give them some big bird. is that waste? I wonder how much it will cost to get rid of the rest of the Gazans and build a resort. These people worried about sesame street...

At this point, nothing we say here will change what they do, so I'll just wait to see what they do end up spending all this money on, and then we can discuss the merits of what actually happened rather than argue hypotheticals.
We do, through our elected representatives in Congress. We're not going to have a referendum on line item budget spending by every federal agency.

It's not that hard though, social security medicaid and the military. The rest is pocket change. The best way is either cut the military, ss, or medicaid... or raise taxes. Usually the dems want to raise taxes and spend. Repubs want to cut and cut (except the military)... trump wants to buy develop greenland and gaza and lower taxes. It's all fake money anyways I don't really understand why people get worked up over fake money deficits. When we can't drink the water or breathe the air, we will know that we have over spent.

It is interesting that the curve slows down during democrat years.... I agree with you that the line keeps going up, and I would argue that the fatal flaw is the notion that the economy must grow in perpetuity. Infinite growth is not not sustainable in a finite system. The lion share of our deficit acquired over the last 25 years has been due to the Bush and Trump tax cuts that went to their billionaire donor class and large coorperations. Debt increases, cost of living increases, cost of healthcare highest, highest defense spending, wealth disparity increasing and one of worst, happiness lower than many. Norway one of happiest and most wealth distributed. No math major but seems like our equation is bad.
