They can be taught anything, but just like with math or language, you work incrementally towards higher and higher goals. You start with recognizing small whole numbers and the names of letters, and their sounds, not with calculus and James Joyce. It takes many people a long time to learn higher maths, and new languages, but some kids have learned these things and mastered them at amazingly young ages. There's nothing wrong with teaching kids how to build a more equitable and just society.
 
This has gotten gross. No one is trying to make a kid someone they are not, but to simply recognize there are differences with hopes to be more inclusive.
Trans people exist, they have their own perspective. Should they be forced into some sort of ‘norm’ social coding? Bullshit!

Equity means same outcome not equal treatment and it has often ended in cannibalism.
 
If you look at transformative SEL, it accepts social norms it just believes they should "force" some sort of new "norm social coding"

Evo, you must have some awareness that it goes beyond being kind and tolerant of difference. Which by the way has long been a social norm.

You can have both equity in opportunity and equity in outcome. Not the same thing. What about CRT is so worrying to you? It doesn’t seem a stretch as a theory and might have merit. The theory being that racism is “baked“ into the system. The system having been built and run by white men with wealth. When you consider slavery, segregation, red lining, etc… etc… it doesn’t seem implausible. Aside from race, women, up until relatively recently, weren't allowed to vote, borrow money without a husbands signature, enter marathons etc etc. Sorry, but us white guys don’t have a stellar record to back up our history of open mindedness and fairness…..

You seem to be willfully ignorant. You and your ilk don't want to understand the subject matter. You're clearly not even understanding the use of metaphors. You aren't reading with an open mind, receptive to other people's ideas, but rather just trying to find confirmation of your viewpoint. If someone has anything to present that isn't part of the worldview that you subscribe to, and I suspect it's the one you were raised with, you immediately stop thinking about it critically, and just regurgitate some Tucker Carlson talking points. You do know that he was caught texting with former FOX hosts about the charade that is foxnews? Even he doesn't believe the hateful shit he says, but it makes him money, so why cut the shit, right?

So, to spell it out for you, I was talking about how little kids don't get taught the final steps in a process, they're taught the very smallest building blocks, and they don't get into the more serious parts of these theories until later. They are not tasked with developing public policy at 8 years old. I don't know if you've got kids, but they do develop an understsnding of fairness fairly young. That can be enhanced and expounded on for years, until they become better and better and listening to logic, rather than giving in to their baser impulses.

To begin a complaint about close-mindedness with "you and your ilk" and assumptions about my upbringing requires a despairing lack of self awareness.

The issue is that CRT and all the other neo-Marxist critical theories are not fair. They openly advocate for treating people unfairly to achieve equality of outcome.

Have you seen the results of Google AI it has been schooled in DEI and CRT and it has basically eliminated white men. It shows the US founding fathers as black people and even made Nazis as non white.
