so if the 9/11 attackers came from saudi arabia, egypt, and UAE. why are not those countries on the list. there has never been an Iranian accused of terrorism on us soil, so why that country. this president dude is clearly not an American.
 
If they were would that change people's dismay? It seems people get more upset that anyone would suggest at all that any group of people should get special attention when they try to come to our county legally or illegally. Then the topic comes up and people who are more skeptical about who crosses the border gets labeled racist, bigot, white supremacist, misogynist, islamophobic etc. . This is what really separates people and causes the divide we are starting to see in this country and diminishes a productive conversation on how to handle it
 
right, he said Christians would get preferential treatment. what does that even mean? couldnt one just say, "i accept jesus christ as my lord and savior and walk right in? or do they need to be able to recite the lords prayer and a minimum of 8 different psalms. or can one just say "im in the saudi royal family, let me in". Are not mexicans mostly christians? why are we building a wall to stop them? oh right they are rapists.

what can we do to stop this asshole? I want to go out and join a militia seriously. most of the militias in my neck of the woods are currently supporters of fascism. what can we do. For some odd reason I miss George Bush and Dick Cheney right now.
 
of course I voted. I knew the fucker was going to win though because nobody was taking him seriously and they didnt like hillary's voice. the man is not an idiot that is for sure. I actually just wrote to the Michigan Wolverines letting them know im down to fight some tyranny. Ill let you know what their response is.

Actually, Muslims learn about Jesus and consider him a great prophet and teacher. They can probably quote Jesus' teachings almost as well as a Catholic or Protestant. I've had conversations with Muslims from different countries and we've discussed this (calmly and sweetly).

Anyway, I think the conversation went on a detour when the pivotal point of argument was presented that Trump's ban of certain kinds of immigrants is viewed as what will fix problems. The idea that what ails the average "dude" and "dudette" comes from threats outside our country. I personally believe that is a distraction from what is really going on that is harmful to our democracy, namely the degree in which wealth and corporate power has plundered ordinary citizens' security: no big banker has been brought to book for the 2007-2008 financial meltdown in this country, and now they are even bigger and more powerful than ever. And a number of these same people are who Trump wants as his wing-men. Isn't that an alarm bell? Syrian refugees, the biggest population of displaced Arabs, are no threat in my eyes and never have been in our modern history.

I suggest reading Andrew J. Bacevich's book, "The Limits of Power" and other writings he has done. He is a Vietnam Vet, a career military officer, and now teaches international relations and military strategy at Boston College. The book is 8 years old+ but he put into words concepts that I realized made sense. My history studies since high school is also my guidepost and sets context for current events. And with that recommendation, I'm done. Got a website to do for a tree service in the northeast and want to get cracking on that! :)

We would all have to unite. United We Stand ...... We The People ....... fat chance of a snowball in hell. See how they do that? They have us so divided, in so many different ways. Earth is one big ball of confusion ..... I have to stop now.

I'm not sticking up for 'anybody' but, it's not free speech or religion when the Muslims are affended by ours and we're supposed to change our religious views. Ie., Merry Christmas for Happy Holidays.
