I’m aware of 175. It’s only a felony if, as above, there is intent to commit another crime. It’s the OTHER CRIME I’m a tad curious about. It has to be federal, since NY state statute of limitations is 5 years for a felony of this type and it’s been 8 years.

You don’t know because Bragg won’t say. He has reasons, likely related to double jeopardy. But it could be and will be argued that this indictment is insufficient on its face since it simply omits the necessary underlying crime.

So if the “other crime” is NY state election law then the statute has run. In certain circumstances the statute can be extended or “tolled”- like if Trump was continuously out of the state. No doubt prosecution will try this if necessary.

If it’s federal election law then this is novel territory. As I said above, I’ve never heard of a “state federal” charge. Especially one that the federal government has not charged him with! Borders on the absurd.

But I’m no expert. Alan Dershowitz thinks he will be convicted, such is the hatred in Manhattan for the man.

Could be that it will be the start of building the country back up. A point in time where we decided that corruption and politicians getting away with crimes was no longer going to be tolerated. A point where honesty and a responsibility to those you represent are more important than which side of the political isle you are on. Could be the best thing that has happened to this country in a long, long time.

I beg to differ because Donald has committed serious crimes against this country. Holding him accountable for those crimes is essential to the future of this country, and to not do so would cause irreparable damage to our country.

Maybe. Not sure Bragg’s case represents “serious crimes”. Who was the victim? Certainly not the voting public. I know I’m a broken record, but if voters didn’t care about him grabbing women 3 weeks before the election, they surely didn’t care about him cheating on his wife 10 years before the election. Right?

Anyway, not trying to stir the pot. It will all play out (excruciatingly slowly).

Ya like the Biden family, and other high level Dems, are honest and responsible. That they havent done criminal things. Has Trump done bad things, probably...but don't forget all those on the other side that have too. That is what most of us on this side are tired of...the microscope only looking one way.

This country is split, close to 50/50, on these politics. What we need is unity, not one side bashing the other side and calling each other ignorant and stupid. We need to follow the facts and not just what the news media tells us. We need to refrain from judgement (opinions are ok) of the other side, and be willing to listen/debate the topics until the true facts are known. We need a government that is willing to be open to the truth and show us the undistorted facts.

Being combative and refusing to debate just make the divide worse.
