ABR Rigging Thimbles

Be an innovator, not a copycat.

Yeah. I'm the copycat.

RE: innovation. Please recall that X-Man didn't support the use of these rings in the configuration most applicable to arborists (the two ring saver). You know who did? We did the research, development and testing to make these new products happen (with the help of many of the people reading this). It is natural that we would want to be able to have control over the materials that we use in our own custom products.

I love the X-Rings to death. They are safe and suitable for use in tree care, but these new specs are better.

The truth: The day the very first post about the Antal rings went up on TreeBuzz every supplier was on the phone with Antal to get the lowdown. Antal offered to sell them to us directly immediately (and for less than David's price). We stuck with David's X-Ring branded version of the Antal ring for several years out of respect and appreciation. I made the decision to make a better ring after bringing several new configurations (some of which were not condoned by X-Man) to our website and hearing extensive feedback from the splicers.

Finally: I think it is amazing how much Nick, David, and I have benefitted tremendously from this website over the years. All three of us are products of TreeBuzz (for better or worse!) I thank you guys for your passion and support.

I'm psyched that Treestuff has brought an updated version to market, backed by their outstanding customer service and a lifetime warranty. Big selling point that.

I was disapointed with what initially seemed like TreeStuff pulling a Sherrill Dan House rope sleeve ripoff manouver.
Now, I'm feeling the TreeStuff love again....damn credit card is starting to agitate in the wallet.
Really appreciate the time taken by Luke to provide some clarity and answer unasked questions that were in the back of my mind.
Kudos to you guys.

Dave

I have no skin in the game, understand both sides of the arguments, and don't favor either side (don't really care about this issue). I have been following the thread though. In general, competition favors the strong and agile producers and the customers. I don't own any rings, but I see more options as being a positive thing. As of February, I have a professional relationship with TreeStuff (I am their rep for equipment like Terex and I'm a non stocking Tree Stuff dealer). With that caveat/potential bias clear and present, before that relationship (and after), I've always been well pleased with my dealings with TreeStuff buying products for my tree company, which is why I used them and what lead to the development of our professional relationship.

In my flipping back and forth between forums throughout the day, every day, this morning I noticed this Tree Stuff banner on another site:

David didn't invent the low friction ring. He was the first person to take an awesome product (the Antal Low Friction Ring) and apply it to tree care. He should be honored and respected for this. Once our ring was ready for market, we offered David a few thousand dollars per year as an annual licensing fee. (We were not obligated to do this, but I felt strongly that it was the right thing to do). He declined our offer. We doubled our offer. David declined again. No drama, just two people trying to live up to their own principles.

I respect David a ton and we get along really well. For my part, we will continue to offer the X-Rings on our website and any future products that Xtreme Arborist comes out with.

I read this, this morning and also saw Rigg's post in the morning. I wanted to write a response but was really busy.

I been looking forward all day to try to wrap this up, positive. I'm sorry I didn't make the time in the middle of the day.

Luke and I are cool.

Read above !!! ; he respects me and will continue to offer the X-Rings and support any future products that I come out with. He told me that from the beginning these last few weeks as well.

So if you are lashing out for my sake, I sure appreciate the support, but that's enough on this thread. Your points were heard.

It sucks to have people trying to roast you, I've been there plenty.

Do you like the X-Rigging Rings? Keep buying them. Are you a past treestuff customer and like the X-Rigging Rings? PLEASE KEEP BUYING THEM from treestuff. IF you stop buying them, they won't stock them.
If you think the new ABR thimble is the bomb, buy it. IF you hate me because I was mean to you years ago on treebuzz and still want to get back at me, buy the ABR thimble instead, now you have a choice and you can satisfy the evil of revenge finally.

Little guys like me need these big companies to move products for us. They reach so many people and have outstanding customer service.

I own a tree service and I buy from everyone and will continue to buy from treestuff and everyone.

Thank you treestuff for supporting the X-Rigging products and future products !

LONG LIVE TREESTUFF !!!

Yes, the lost sleep and the nightmares and the strange voices and the dog howling mournfully through the wee hours... all is well, now that nothing has changed and the dead horse is hamburger.

Hey x thought you'd like this, my four yr old with her first brummels. On an x ring, wearing an x men shirt.

So you're saying you, by your own admission, would build the same thing that several other manufacturers have made? And you're blaming who for what? It is difficult to read almost everything you write.

ETA: This is all out of context now. disregard.
