30 plus years one handing a saw !

And the argument against 1 handing comes down to this, shortcuts inevitably lead to accidents. Some people get really damn lucky and they get by for a long time but it eventually catches up with most people. 1 handing is (in most cases) one of those shortcuts. That argument about production over safety is what every hack out there uses. .

You are one of the dumber fucks I have encountered on forums. You likely dabble in the occasional removal while also dabbling in house painting, automotive repair, janitorial work and many other jack of all trades endeavors, while struggling to pay for your single wide trailer and keeping microwave dinners on the table. and, hey maybe get just one more year out of that ole 87 toyota....and of course there is nothing wrong with that and I mean it in the absolutely nicest way possible. Yeehaw, ride em cowboy! How many people live in your town...like 50 or so.

Wow TV he got your panties in a bunch eh? Between that and frash saying he's super human well, this is an interesting thread no doubt. I'm a bit embarrassed to be a part of it.

Ok so 1 handing is old school and people won't change habits once they're made hopefully everyone can live with there choices and bills must be paid and production workers must rush so like said many entries it's flogging a dead horse.

More like pissing for distance and dry humping what's left of the pile of horse bones!
Just make use proper technique and required ppe when competing gentlefolk.

You were a little brash before, but now you just come off like a curmudgeonly old fool.

I'm not even so sure what "old school" is anymore since things are progressing so quickly. I'm pretty sure I heard someone call the hitch climber set up old school  I one hand and two hand the saw. Depends on the scenario (like many of you). Sometimes if I'm feeling frauthy I'll zip tie the trigger and finish my climb:LOL:

A combination of inexperience with saws and lack of strength in your forearms could lead to some brutal consequences for new climbers and cutters though. I think its proper to train with 2 hands. I remember when I started cutting with the top handle, my forearms were on Fire to begin with.

Didn't ruffle my feathers at all TV. Weren't you banned once anyway? And got back on by mistake? You seem like a nice enough person most of the time just from a different time and place than me that's all. No need for personal insult. I think I understand you.

Plus there is no reason on earth I can't one hand. Completely legal. I do it all day, 6 days 8 hours a day if need be like during storm work and been nicked on the left hand just 3 times in over 45 years, no stitches, and all 3 times somebody ran or walked under me cutting I did not know about.

Well, actually you might be wrong on this account. if OSHA were to come aknockin' they would cite you for not following manufacturers guidelines and the ANSI Z-133. the issue that you have people running around underneath you means that you are probably also violating a couple of other "Z-133" standard's like communication and establishing drop zones and work plans. Buy a copy and check it out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't OSHA for employees

TV :tonto: I think you made your point without the personal insult. Let's keep it respectful please.

You know what Chisolm, just like in the NFL, I always seem to get flagged for retaliation. I don't like to be called a "hack" and I don't like to be referred to be someone who has his "panties in a bunch". I tried to stay in bounds with my opinion but don't appreciate personal insults...just like you wouldn't. So, go about your business and do what you think is judicious...it is your game and your ball. I am sure you are aware if you throw your weight around...you may not have much of a forum and then how do you pay the bills?

Osha IS for employees son and If you had been in business as long as I have, you just might have had someone inadvertently run under your tree 3 times in 45 years...1. Homeowner ran out the front door and I was over front door. 2. New employee I subsequently fired walked off the job to go somewhere right under my tree and I fired him on the spot. 3. Neighbor walked under me out from under a thick shade tree right next to a huge hedge and I was OVER the nbor's yard. I took the shot myself all 3 times rather than injure someone.

I have had a copy of the Z and updates and EVERY ANSI standard since they were issued and if you don't believe me bet me 20 bucks and I will take a shot of them right now on my desk and upload it. Good try tho.
