Crane work is so amazing if done the right way. Things to think about in my opinion:
communication - i would not want to to a cranejob without my Senas. We speak all the time with the crane OP (more tention, less tention etc.). And also great for telling jokes while the boom is comeing back :D...
Drenaline works realy nice for both. I use a km3 max for srt on bigger trees. But my everyday rope is a drenaline. Like the to switch between srt and drt.
I was thinking what i would have done in that moment. i think i would have say`d bye-bye to the crane, even if i loose money with it. I have had some shitty advice in the past from some crane operators (mostly to take it bigger) and i am happy i have done it my way.
Had my buddy James over to help me out climbing. So i had time to take some photos of the everyday stuff we do. Couple of pictures of last friday when i was helping him out on a cranejob. 15 trees on a very steep slope.
A shelf or V-cut almost always for me. Keeps the piece in place and time for the climber and crane to react. Also no extra lifting power needed. On stem parts i often cut just through, no problem when you guest the weight right. Iv used a facecut ones to boom a leader up, that i wasent sure i...
I have try´d to do how you say`d. We have had a great winter so i have spent much time xc-skiing. Its good for endurance and agility, also you have to stabilize yourself maybe like in skating. I have done bodyweight exercises as addition. Haven`t touch`d much dumbbells or weights during the...
Thanks for your advice. Yes, my main goal are treeclimbing comps but also everyday production climbing. My strength isent the best at the moment... no idea about the max weights i could handel at the moment. But i think more then the average treeclimber would lift
Agility based exercises for...
So its already autumn and the evening are getting longer. Great time for training. Today is also my off day so i thought ill get on the buzz. Tell me what are your goals for this winter?
Mine are speed and power!
Did the mistake of not doing much lifting and running during the comp season...
So got my delivery today. Ended up with a rc-2000 and 200ft of 5/8 sirius. Also got a 5 to 1 pulling kit from Stein. Should be good for a while.
Actually im hoping to buy finaly a grcs in the beginning of the next year.
Have a small dmm block with a 120kn deadeye already. Enybody tryd the 5/8 sirius from teufelberger? Looks affordable. Im happy with my 1/2 one but the 9/16 tend to glaze. That stein Rc-2000 looks nice. The big pollards are also cool, but i think they wont get much use on my jobsites. May...
Hey.
I am going to get some new rigging kit for bigger stuff. From time to time i have to rig some 1000-1500 pound lumps. What would be your to go kit for stuff like that? I would appreciate some reviews on rigging ropes.
I use the taz, saka and footascender. i Thin ill never will get it under 10 seconds. Last time i used 2x2,5kg dumbbell weights for my line. It helpd but i dont know how much. Ill try to figure out a way to get the two points for the back up as well. I think ill go with a microtraxion...
