The exposure is bad...there is a volcano in the background.

Friend's 40th birthday present, set him a 90' 'permanent' anchor and drug him out of his comfort zone to get to 7" wood, where you can see two volcanoes from his house. He's out of the climbing habit and is used to cliffs that don't move in the wind.

Had my buddy James over to help me out climbing. So i had time to take some photos of the everyday stuff we do. Couple of pictures of last friday when i was helping him out on a cranejob. 15 trees on a very steep slope.

Two solo removals. Employee had already done his days for the week.

The deodora cedar was largely machine-feed into the chipper from how is stacked them as a crash pad for 8'+ millable logs, and the 25' spar. Two trips to the ground to manage brush into "grapple piles"/ crash padding. I'd laid the branches mostly online from the air, so it was easy to manage. 4-5 yards of chips. 5 logs.

I drilled this 80' cherry with a 35'-40' max landing zone, after jumping the shed corner. Very corralled in by neighboring trees, so very vertical with a small crown, the main part leaning slightly to the Drop Zone. I flipped off millable logs.

Having drilled that tree, I knew what I was up against. For a time I had a climb line horizontal to another tree 25 feet away, but had to climb higher than that. I had wanted to tie in high to a Big Cedar in the neighbor's yard, but it turns out the hemlock between the Cedar and this cherry was in terrible terrible terrible shape and I wanted nothing to do with it.IMG_20190516_115500846.webpIMG_20190516_122544665.webpIMG_20190516_123743060.webpIMG_20190516_142522096.webpIMG_20190516_150712437.webpIMG_20190517_160046534.webpIMG_20190518_163302609.webpIMG_20190518_150553258.webpIMG_20190518_150548001.webpIMG_20190518_163344286.webp

ended up doing 2 more trees. Took them in one and 2 picks. Farthest radius I’ve ever done crane work at and went smooth, we were still good for 5K at 159’ radius @Mark Chisholm since people have been claiming lately they invented your V cut I just went with W cuts to change things up

Thank goodness it was a gravel driveway

This is the first 20' of my work area. Wish I could take a better pic looking down the line but taking pics is a big no-no, had to sneak this one.
450 accords on line at any moment, one goes by every 54 seconds. That's 500 cars per shift. Between the 2 lines we put out 2000 cars per day!

What kind of job doesn't like pictures if you have a few free seconds to snap one?!

You should be somewhere cooler.

Marysville?
Yup.

8.6m sqft, it's pretty awe inspiring standing there at the end of the line looking down it. We build every accord sold anywhere in the world othan isn't Russia / China / India (theirs come from a few plants in China). And if that $13.5M of cars that's on the line at any given moment isn't impressive you should see the back lot; 10k cars, ~$300M in inventory on an average day!

About the pics, it makes [business] sense, they don't want competitors seeing the behind the scenes processes or next model-year changes. Also it's a FTZ (foreign trade zone) inside the building so I think that might influence it too.
