    Alternative Models

In general partnerships suck, more trouble than they are worth. Sub contracting is legal and everyone knows what to expect and what they are responsible for.

    Alternative Models

Sounds too complicated for continued operation. Obviously, the investment on equipment and repairs will be different for each group and as such they would all have different operating costs. These have different capital input needs. I can see sub contracting but not 3 way split scenarios.

    Tree versitile saddle

I really like the way the first saddle is tied though. Continuous rope work is pretty bomber.

    Tree versitile saddle

These are really cool saddles, how they compare? Mostly in fit around the hips and lower ribs in a hanging position and when loaded with a heavy saw off one side. Also if the upper saddle does tend to rise it drags the leg loops into your ballz. A few of the new saddles have addressed these...

    Loop vs prussic

Because a prusic will pinch off a rope like a turd. They work fantastic on small loads but on really big ones they tend to chop them off.

    TreeStuff used to be great!

Yes but Trump is hurting trade, he’s making things worse. For the USA ! He’s making an island of that country. We will be fine, we get stuff from other parts of the world. So personally I don’t really care. But when you here Canadians say “ I won’t be going south to do shopping because our...

Are Tree Companies Actually Worth Anything?

Ultimately skill can be taught, but talent can’t. Some of the larger companies in the area here have “ exercised their insurance policies “ on occasion. They can afford that I suppose? I think the larger the the staff count the greater the chance for dummies?

    Cranes over power lines

If workers comp or BC Hydro caught a crane operator doing that, the company would be shut down pending an investigation in this province. The protocol when suspended work over energized lines with non insulated equipment is that The power company be notified of the work, and the power be...

Are Tree Companies Actually Worth Anything?

That’s fairly true, but a turnkey operation is pretty sweet! If you worked for me from spring to mid summer, we could pass the torch and you can put advertising in the garbage. Never pay another cent and have more work than you can do.

    Mini skid steer shopping

I have a mechanic, he is a hydraulic mechanic that also repairs the giant gantry cranes in Vancouver harbour. His dad ownes the shop I get my work done at. He has every conceivable tool in that shop. 2 large lathes, break presses, sheers, pipe bender, 2 welders, plasma cutters, floor lift - the...

    Cranes over power lines

Is your crane insulated? Does it pass a dielectric test when fully setup with outriggers on the ground?

Anyone have monster trees I can climb?

The theft of the bobcat may be an even larger issue than the drunk driving? But you say this crime was committed as a minor? Or were you convicted as an adult? That may have an outcome as to whether or not you can apply for a pardon, so you can cross the border? Yes there are some incredibly...

Are Tree Companies Actually Worth Anything?

Yes but the point I’m trying to make is things are transferable. A friend of mine was a plumbing contractor, two man show. He had built up a client base and good rep. He took the guy that bought the company under his wing for 6 months and told all his regular clients his plan to retire and pass...

Are Tree Companies Actually Worth Anything?

So does your company have value? Mine does. Most of that is in my reputation and skill. Some in my assets, and a lot in client base. I don’t even advertise anymore and I’m beating them of with a club. I don’t look for jobs, they find me. Is that value? I should think so.
