    Today....

That brought me right back. Towing a friend's tiny house up a steep hill with a '02 3/4 ton chevy and something goes. He jumps out, pops the hood, and yells "FIRE". Fire extinguisher thx to his dad saved the day. Woof

    Today....

Been waiting for good rain on this as it's on an island without running water etc. Clients just won't listen about longterm benefits of buying a small chipper to be out here, or just chop up the stuff to rot when they play with their tractor... Pretty silly to pay us to sit and watch a bonfire...

What has everyone used to pull small brush/trees?

Grapple on miniskid for invasives is mint. Bittersweet control seems to be folly without some chemical unfortunately. This was mainly bittersweet and multiflora, but shines with barberry.

    Neurodiversity thread

This is an interesting part that I munch on regularly as I meet folks who have the full spectrum of relationship with a diagnosis. I saw a shrink who didn't like or believe one should put a name to it/diagnosis, in this case depression, as it was a self feeding wall to betterment or whatnot. A...

    TCIA WTF?

I get their paper version and they've had a few months of it so far. Going to fewer issues/year according to the last one, hopefully means more meat per article and won't need to skim a forum for content.

    Rope Runner Vertec Limited Edition

Late payments in my state are capped at 1.5% per month or 18% annually, not sure how that works with paying for something but not getting it, along with inflation? 10/2023 buy date...

    GRCS Worth it with mini.

From a couple yrs ago we removed this line of smallish pines with the combo (and stays for the rigging tree). This was the smallest stem but all were rigged the same. Without the grcs it would have been way more piecing out, and so much more raking too.

    GRCS Worth it with mini.

We have sk800 and grcs. Not busted out often but has been game changer many times, well worth it and pays for itself rapidly. With mini: pick and lower with grcs then grab and drag with mini while lowering to float out whole piece etc etc

Niwaki pruning photos. Let’s see yours

If you choose "large" vs "full-size" for the picture it should orient correctly. 'Cause sideways don't do them no justice!

Do you ever have the occasional customer service experience like this?

Not often, but only with pruning. By the hour sounds like a great call. Edit:Another tactic/sop that has helped with that dynamic is standing by and communicating the tree-side aspect of the work: "we won't make that cut as it is too large and near the main stem," "industry standards are..."...

    Being a “Young” Business Owner

Guy called me "young fella" the other day which I found amusing in a nice way. My white hairs are getting plentiful, but hairline less so. I feel in my prime at 37 so I'll take being seen as young too I suppose. Sure as shit don't feel young anymore though!
