Compact Bulldog Bone

for mechanical advantage with the bone can we capture the tail of rope for a typical 3:1 or does it need to be treated like the rope runner and use a “scam” style MA?

Have been climbing on the bdb with elongated bollard now for a few years. Almost exclusively on Yale bifrost. The other day it was quite hot out. But it was the first and only time I have had slippage on descent. There is decent wear on the lower bollard and maybe it is time to flip to the other side.

I’d say this is a total win for longevity. I absolutely love that this device just works. Every time. It wasn’t even a scary instance but just a noticeable result from normal wear. I’ll take a picture shortly.

Did you start with the adjustable bollard or just run the elongated bollard?

one thing to mention about the cbdb, is you should keep it clean and loose. I think odorless mineral spirits is the best with an old toothbrush. If the upper chip plate thing gets stuck with debris, the whole device gets terrible. just keep it clean obviously like any.

Bdb is an incredible tool. Been climbing exclusively on one for over 10 years. Tried rw, rr, unicender, akimbo. Bulldog is the one for me. In my ideal world there would be more tools like this, each one hand made by the designer himself. Purchase directly from the maker, no bs. Every time I put it on the rope it does just what I need.
especially value that it is handcrafted domestically.
