    Grapple, grapple saw, hydraulic connections?

Can you get a pullout extension for that crane? You should have an angled pullout extension, especially since the crane has no fly-jib. If you need a Mecanil grapplesaw from someone that will actually support you, give me a call.

First one with a Mecanil was actually a guy in Illinois with a Hiab 250... think it's been around 7 years now.

SG280 cuts fine but the 160 doesn't? Did you try adjusting the bar speed valve?

That chart is showing the boom straight out horizontal... the jib is rated for much more than that. Attached is a PM 100 load diagram, same as @CanaryBoss's boom configuration I believe. *edit* Just checked out the operators manual, looks like the jib hook point is rated for 11,000 lbs

I would suggest checking out Chad's knuckleboom in person and talk with him (someone that actually works around the same types of trees as you and actually runs it, and has a stick boom to compare)

So it was you that stole that crane... I wanted to buy it but they were holding it for you to look at. If everything checks out... that's the best deal I have ever seen for a knuckleboom crane... congrats. It will be close to impossible to find a used chassis for that boom.

Looking to buy my first knuckle boom crane with a grapplesaw.

Whoever is saying that is full of BS... any boom can fail if it's continually shock loaded or undersized for it's application. Unfortunately there's a lot of misinformation spread in order to get a sale. What kind of budget do you have? From what I've seen with other people, whatever capacity...

    Effer Crawler knuckleboom Thoughts?

Jekko(Fassi) makes a unit like this as well... they are starting to become popular in Europe so they should be popular in the US in about 30 years.
