I'm working my day J.O.B. right now, so I'll be out of town another 2 weeks, but if no one else chimes in before I hang up the roughneck hardhat and don the arbo helmet, I'll be sure to post some.

HA! Personally I never had a real issue with bounce until I tried tach on SRT. I'm running DRT on anything but pines recently and when I split my weight it's not so bad, but on a single line I'm digging cougar on the work end. My anchor leg is always arbormaster......I've got a surplus and I...
Summer time, summer time. No time to talk. We'll all catch up well during the winter between splicing rope and the buzz. Swap war stories ect.

Years ago, green as grass: Doing hack and slash line clearance on spurs. Big live oak. I was only about 15 ft up bucking down 2' pieces when the spar went hollow. The cavity was about 8" in diameter......knew I was in for it.

Very useful cordage! I used to use it for my climbing hitch, but didn't like how fast it wore out. Use it for all manner of other things still, but I'm lovin' epicord for climbing.

I don't use the toss wands anymore, but when I did I used to braid my own snares out of extra dyneeda fibers I had laying around.

For 16 strand, I use a wire fid about 18" long made out of piano wire attached to a retired carabiner. Also, I don't do the bury all at one time. I take it in three stages.
First stage, I bury just enough to get the tapered portion stuffed. When you get to the point where the untapered rope is...
I've been pondering on the same thing.
One thought is a half hitch and then choke with the hooks (like you do when you don't want the RB to get super tight when neg blocking). Yes, this practice would eliminate the zero rope on rope friction feature, but I'm thinking it would go a long way to...
