Compact Bulldog Bone

Wow! Those new bones look amazing. Mine looks ugly but is a dream on cougar climbing line. I'm sure you guys will love them.

I like the DMM Ultra O. Reason? Easy to see, use, reliable, and seems to fit the purpose well.

I was using a dmm oval with bits of big shot tubing to hold the orientation but switched to the rock exotica oval with the captive wire thing. Both worked well.

It was a tough choice I had to make not long ago. Dmm or rock os. I wanted to use one or the other because of the different actions. I settled on the dmm, not because it opened in my preferred direction, but because I use revolvers pretty often, so i would have still been stuck with biners that open in different directions.

I wonder if Dmm has a patent on the revolver biner? If Rock Exotica made a biner with a pulley incorporated, you'd really have a tough choice on your hands.

I feel about the Petzl William biner the same way. I love the direction of opening of the Rock Exotica biners, but I frequently like the larger size of the Petzl William biners. I use the ball-lock type because I had the twist lock roll open on me once when pressed against a limb.

Rock does have a biner of similar size, but at almost twice the cost.

I own a bunch of most of them. They all have there spots depending on my setup and or hardware that day. I know I'm the odd man out on this but...I actually like the fact that I have to stop and think about the biners action. Makes me think and concentrate on one of the very important devices in our daily climbing. Of course as a rec guy or volunteer I am not worrying about taking an extra few seconds. At the end of the day my pay for climbing that day is still the same. Sweat, sawdust, and good karma.
