Yo no se hombre, that’s not really a question anyone can answer for you over the internet. You know what they say, if you have to ask...
Maybe some better advice would have been to show up when the utility arbs did their work-they would definitely be able to give you the scoop on safety and...
@Bhardman
For guys in the utility arboriculture world, they are working up and around power lines every single day of the week. MAD is the basic standard that keeps them safe on a day to day basis. I would liken utility arborists MAD to the stages of becoming a lineman. You aren’t gloving your...
I wish the spiderjack could run srt. The only time mine is ever loaded on a single length of rope is I when I’m standing on a spar in spikes and lanyard to satisfy the double tie in requirement. You can shave a few seconds here and there. That’s a @sherwood7 special right there.
Anecdotally, I...
I’d go Left Coast. I think the Bay Area has the most gnar if that is really what you are after. Massive amount of diversity and massive trees. Really the whole Cali Coast has some impressive trees, deciduous or otherwise.
Also, the green East has some real beauties too- way bigger and more...
If I were a little closer I’d be looking into this opportunity for sure. Shane has a nice operation going with an already strong crew and strong equipment. Good people to work with all around.
Mine are going strong, knock on wood. They aren’t steel so I wouldn’t count on getting a life time out of them. I have had one friend break his- he said he was really reefing on them though. Would happily buy a new set if and when they bite the dust. Worth it.
Hi there, if you are interested in a contract climber I am right across the Mason-Dixon Line in PA. I will give you full days plugging in on the crew where needed; from climbing and cutting to chipping and raking. Feel free to PM me. Best of luck in your search. -Colin
This dude is a killer. Anyone in his area would be lucky to have him. Puts trees down in a hurry and also safely. Grade A pruning. Take one look at this guys brow and you can tell he was made for climbing trees. The chimp moved home!
I just recently moved back to Gettysburg PA and am looking to do some contracting for folks in the area. I would travel to anywhere in the central PA area and also down into northern Maryland. Also Philadelphia if there were a couple days work there back to back. I have insurance, saws and...
Good post NorCalBrock, though I’d like to make one distinction in regards to EHAP because it’s been on my mind quite recently because of my new employers expectations about proximity to power lines. I have been switching between utility and residential for the past few years and I recently...
Hello all,
I have a decently new stock husky 372 that I want to get fully modified by someone. I’m not a mechanic and I don’t want to start a thread about the intricacies of a full hop up. I’m just a guy who cuts and climbs for a living and wants a bomb saw I can throw around all day. Just...
Look up the Dakine Builders Pack. MSR Fuel cans or a Dolmar duel oil gas can. Hydration bladders instead of water bottles. There are no great answers besides everyone having a heavy pack and most likely someone carrying a saw.
