    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

I mainly do pruning as well and find this little chipper gets me through 90% of our work. I have a second trailer with room for more bins or for wood.

Wrench looking kinda device, the Apex.

Does anyone have pictures of the new Akimbo?

Wrench looking kinda device, the Apex.

I love the swiveling plate and adjustable friction. It looks like a quality product. I don't love that they cut the inventor out of the design process and changed the name of the device.

    Climbing boots with Safety Toe

I'm a little late to the party but I highly recommend Keen work boots. They have a bunch of different models of hiking style work boots, exceptional grip and comfort. They don't last long if you're using them for production work but they are priced accordingly.

    Wedgin' n jackin'

Fundamentals of general tree work has a good section on wedging and jacking. That book is timeless.

Rope sleeve or cambium saver for rigging

I've worn through them but that was after a decade plus of use. It wore through right at the center and likely due to using it on smaller crotches. They're a consumable, it will degrade with regular use in our work environments. The nice feature is it can be used for both climbing and rigging...

Rope sleeve or cambium saver for rigging

Leather sleeve works fine when used appropriately. They make a larger version that will accommodate a larger line. Eventually you'll wear through the sleeve but they're just so easy to set up and retrieve remotely. Ring and rings are a nightmare to use around here, too many tight crotches...

    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

Wow that's an interesting set-up. So that chipper swings out of the way to dump? I've been looking at doing something very similar by welding a hitch receiver to the back of the trailer and using a ramp and hitch mounted platform to transport the chipper.

    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

Is there any noticeable difference in weight? I'm wondering how portable it is after and engine swap.

I'm not sure, I stole it from the interwebs.

    Did you ever...?

    4. Heated the tubing again, tucked the slingshot head under my hoodie, set up quick and let it fly... yeah!!! The throw bag sailed through like it was going into orbit, a beautiful sight. You attach your line and give it a good yank to pull it through the crotch and everything goes slack and...

Is it worth spending big bucks on Chainsaw Pants?

    Anyways, back to chainsaw pants...

Is it worth spending big bucks on Chainsaw Pants?

I agree, I have a few tech pants with zips on the ankle and they're great for staying put over a boot. Velcro would be a nice addition, especially in the winter.

Looking for smaller blocks to run 9/16 or 5/8 rope

I also emailed them about using 9/16 Atlas in the Omni Block. They were actually using those two products for early marketing efforts. I've posted the response on here. Personally I'd invest in the small or xs DMM impact block and use the Omni for redirects.

Is it worth spending big bucks on Chainsaw Pants?

I like the fit of SIP over the Cloggers, but the Zeros are a treat in the summer. If you're looking to save a few bucks I'd look into the SL Tech line.

    Update to the SAKA-mini-MAX

I love my foldable SAKA. A simple and innovative step forward on the bungee in a straw idea. Also it's tacticool!

    Rope runner pro

"It is also worth noting that the RRP's that we've gotten back function correctly/normally after cleaning." Can you expand on this? Was there a common contaminant and location on the units received? Was it just a simple clean and lube as specified in the user manual? Thanks for the taking the...
