Did not know. Thought it was just another dumb thing us guys do. Thanks for the info! You fellers do realize movember is an annual event where the growing of a moustache is done to help raise awareness for mens health issues such as prostate cancer. In other words it looks like a commemorative piece.![]()
I think the mustache represents Franck Paradowski (FK5 L'arboriste grimpeur) who works for FTC. It's not on the standard production Eclipse - just the one they were giving away in a contest.Looks nice, from FTC. Gets a mustache because the French are weird? Idk, but good for 16mm

I also emailed them about using 9/16 Atlas in the Omni Block. They were actually using those two products for early marketing efforts. I've posted the response on here. The 2.6 Omniblock is size limited by the width of the face plates. I've used 5/8' rope in one bunches of times, and there is some drag when the rope is unweighted, but as soon as there's any weight on the rope it stretches and the rope no longer contacts the face plates. Somewhere on the internet, I saw an arborist had send RE an email asking about whether or not that was an acceptable use and their response, as I recall, was surprisingly okay with using oversized rope. The gist of their explanation was that it would just add friction when the rope was unweighted, which is an annoyance but not a safety concern, and that there is a chance it could wear out your rope slightly faster.
