    Thanks treevet. Not last tues, think it was in late march of this year. I'm in colorado. Nice pick on the vid. The twig thing does work, just like on stump cuts. I agree with ur pencil example. You def don't want to be sitting in the line of fire if the piece breaks before it is straight vertical

Most of the time I think the cut is more of a personal preference issue. As long as your weights and rigging are solid.:D

    Ratchet straps do work wonders. Much better if u can bomb out a lot of it. If u have to block down any wood, I'd def rig from another tree or go with a crane. Hard to tell what's underneath/around the tree from the pictures. Good luck if u get the bid. Should be an interesting one.

    Sounds like you made the right call. There is a way to do every tree. Sometimes you just have to come back a different time with a different plan/equipment. At the end of the day you are paid to be a professional, even if your employer is not.

    I think there is only one thing to do here. Move to OR and charge $999 a day. That way no one has to pay the outrageous $1000 dollar a day rate. Or reg if you are down, we could both go and split the $999. $599 for you and $400 for me. But seriously, I think guaranteeing multiple days per week...
