Lightning Strike

Ratchet straps do work wonders. Much better if u can bomb out a lot of it. If u have to block down any wood, I'd def rig from another tree or go with a crane. Hard to tell what's underneath/around the tree from the pictures. Good luck if u get the bid. Should be an interesting one.
 
That doesn't look too bad for climbing. A few ratchet straps would help. I have seen one that had 1/3 of the tree blown off. Parts were found two or three houses down the street.
 
Who says lightening doesn't strike twice in the same place! This site is going to be developed as a Compressed Natural Gas fueling station too.

put heavy duty straps around the tree at different points if you must climb it. the kind of straps they would use on semi-trucks
