Snap cut, face, or just cut right through?

I think all cuts are valid in the right situation. Understanding why to use each and how they will react and perform for the intended consequence are more important. There is no right cut for crane picks...just right cut for each individual crane pick.

relying on being able to swing away from a crane pick is a crutch for not having a properly slung piece. even if you have all the time and room in the world to swing away from a wildly picked piece, the dynamic loads on the crane are equally as dangerous to others and the equipment as being near the moving piece as the climber.

sling it right and let it just hang out once free. from there on out it aint your problem, all on you C-O
