    This is the Akimbo

With respect, I disagree. Even fully "tested" or deemed "safe" I doubt anyone here would just run up a tree with any tool that they are not familiar with. They would do their own testing and I would imagine quite an extensive one with an un-"tested" tool. Maybe basic consumer with their blind...

Lets see'em - Tree Stuff Custom Rope Grab Bag Builds

I've gotten a couple of the rope bags, I have to admit it's addicting, just like gambling. I've used most of the rope from the first bag, basal anchor, short climbing rope, some tech rope, rigging rope, and more. The second bag most of it I have no idea what to do with it, but it's still great...

First day on the rope runner

Sometime I'm going to give it a try. But I was thinking that maybe instead of using a string maybe try using a metal ring. The only example I can think of is a nose ring kind of thing. Eh?

Angry, let off some steam... Yo its Friday!

Greatest song ever made in the history of songs ever being made. I'm on the bike with the camera, my buddy in front.

Absolutely, but be prepared for constant persecution as onlookers scorn you for burning one side of your bread.

I usually go for the side that's a little toasty-er than the other side, cause I think the butter melts a little better on that side. Sometimes I hit the bagel button when I'm feeling really naughty even though it's not a bagel.

First day on the rope runner

Mike do you think there is a chance of the throwline getting jammed in the upper part of the RR to not allow the spring to push up causing a malfunction?

What is your preferred hitch and cordage?

Awesome! Thank you so much moss! I like it's simplicity and you are using the power of both your legs to push you up. Is the power in both legs equal or is it more 60% ascender 40% locked foot?

What is your preferred hitch and cordage?

Moss that's an interesting foot ascender/foot-lock technique (learn something new everyday). I'm going to try it, thank you for the video.

    Gaining confidence working high

Time. Like you, I would feel tense (still do) the higher I went but through repetition I'm starting to feel a lot more comfortable. One of my first hang ups was moving off a perfectly good rope to stand on a rickety swinging branch, I would then freak myself out moving off that perfectly good...

    Hitch Climber Expertise Needed...

Yes best avoided, you could ruin your splice, the nice part of the system is the adjustment and being able to move it as close to you when needed.

    The best throwline?

I bought a 1000' and use it for everything. Inexpensive, strong and doesn't tangle.

    Chronic Exposure

Sounds EXACTLY like my wife. She breathes in cat dander and it surfaces as a rash, and her reaction seems to be worse the more stress she deals with. She uses Triamcinolone acetonide cream, seems to help a lot, you need a prescription, and I think it was $150 a tube.

    Chronic Exposure

Too bad your dermatologist wasn't more help, did he do an allergic reaction test to the most common allergens? Everyone is different and it can be very frustrating and seemingly almost impossible to figure out what's causing the problem. But I wouldn't only look at the problem from outside in...

First day on the rope runner

Yeah, it matches my underwear. Me and the RR have been through a lot, a bit of a story, I've owned the gold, black, and of course blue. If you are coming to the Expo maybe we can meet up and I can tell it to ya. Sugru might be needed more for certain kinds of rope, the Tachyon for instance...

First day on the rope runner

Tried the 1/2 km3 today, it's like the heavy duty version of rope. The diameter isn't much different than Tachyon which was a surprise, but so far I like it. Blue sexy.

First day on the rope runner

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Thanks Kevin for the input! Did a few climbs today with the CB, I take back the part about it holding it's shape well. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't stopping as well with the last 20' of my rope, figured it was stretched a little thinner from use. It's...
