I'm still mostly working trees Ddrt, but an accent of more than 15' without my wrench feels like punishment...working a tree natural crotched with textile friction feels that way too. My friction saver/zigzag combo lets me pull stuff that's of a kind with what JP does (albeit a TOTALLY different, lower, degree), and from my admittedly limited experience with full mechanical SRWP, I think it's the same with the RW/HH vs the RR/BDB; smoother, more consistent, with a wider sweet spot for both tending and rappelling. It's not necessarily that the moves aren't possible, they're just easier and more importantly more repeatable. Putting your hands on my zigzag is a good way to get rabies no matter how many eye'n'eyes are laying around , and I have a feeling that's why these boners and binghamites are so crazed/happy.

I love it when my work allows me the opportunity just bail out and burn down. The HH does it with ease and control but so do other tools. Never really had any problems doing it on DdRT though either. The key word here is " burn ". Going down fast, things get hot and wear out at an " accelerated " speed.

I like burning down too and I find videos like johnnypro's help my climbing skills advance. I don't attempt the same degree of skill that Johnny does but it encourages me to better utilize swings in the tree that are real energy savers and push myself to improve my movement through the tree.

Watching other climbers in trees is the greatest way to learn, you see things that you couldn't quite imagine and realize it's something you can work on, expands the horizons. There's fun and there's work, once in awhile they intersect.

I am lucky enough to do what I love and work with my best buddy. For me, fun and work coincide quite alot and I am thankful for that.

Existence is an illusion. Your vision of yourself and those around you is your own interpretation of what the true reality is. In the words of the rock man from "The Point" talking to oblio. You see what you wanna see, you hear what you wanna hear. Don't go messin with the bees

Three kinds of people in life.
1. Thought of The past ("good people")
2. Thought of The present ("love people")
3. Thought of The Future ("bad people")
