Your least favourite tree to climb, and why.

I love climbing ash trees! you can get really high up in them and they often aren't straight making for a but of a challenge, not so much that its difficult but just enough to make it interesting. They can be really difficult to deadwood when dormant because its hard to tell what is live and whats dead before the buds swell.
Our ash are like palm trees, they umbrella out where they were topped. They all got topped. Throw lines...choose your crotch wisely. They are steep and tight. Better have a second cube handy, still be ready to just climb. Climbing is half the battle. Processing the kooky ass sticky ash shizzle is the crux of the op.

thick grandfir, can be a PITA that is if you can get your throwbag down. Many times it's just shoot for the top close to the trunk as you can get and base tie to a neigboring tree, truck, house, or what ever you can come up with.
Sitka spruce... Abrasive, and I have felt a little twig crawl up my pant leg with every movement until it hits your crotch...
I like loctus, but that's probaly because they are rare here.
Cockspur hawthorn feels like I'm being crusified.

Coral tree , african black locust , prickly paperbark and the best one of all L.Patersonia from the hibiscus family the norfolk island hibiscus or the pyramid tree also known locally as the itchy pod tree , it has pretty flowers :vomito::cry::berrinche:
man i hate those. The council would always contract us to remove all there itchypods. The thought of one going through a chipper makes me anxious....

Ironically white pine is one of my favorites to climb, just not work in. As long as you have to cut anything they're pretty cool. Pin Oaks, Bradford pears, previously topped trees (especially Silver Maples), and anything without a high central tie in top my list of lest favorites...

Washington Hawthorn.. not a tree but I have a client who asked me to prune that shit one time.. it was 25 feet tall. Never again, I was wearing my pruning boots (la sportiva high tops) and one of the thorns went through the sole of the boot and into my foot about an inch. Never touching that shit again.

Washington Hawthorn, henceforth will be known as "That Shit".

I've had two Hawthorne thorns punch through the sole of my shoes. Strong little bastards they are.
I was climbing a hawthorn once and sat on a thorn. Two inches of EEEEOUCH!! right in the um, thigh. I don't mind hawthorns though, because they can end up looking so nice.

Water Oak and Pin Oak. Close second white pine. Always a sappy mess afterwards. Those oaks are like crawling naked through a briar patch. Talk about difficult time setting a line with a throwball. Sheesh. Mulberry and black walnut burn my skin but I'd still rather climb them.
Do you have the same skin burn with Sycamore? I sure do. Removed a 13-14 dia almost horizontal limb over a house. Removed some limb weight then tied it of at the top and but tied it. On the ground in 40 mins. Both my skin and throat were irritated. No problems with Mullberry or Black Walnut.

I removed 6 decent sized Sycamores at a school today and THANK GOD we're out of the pollen/dust/irritant season!!! Honestly we had no problems today, but we all were talking about it and agreed if we'd attempted to do this job several months ago, it wouldn't have gotten completed. It would have quickly degraded into a hacking cough, bloodshot watery eyes, scratching throat, irritated skin run for your life free-for-all and we would have died attempting it. Only issue today was the dingle ball fuzz clogged the chipper radiator.

We're still talking about trees, right? o_O
I'm not going to lie
At 16 yrs of age I had a near death experience
I searched for life's meaning in the forests of southern Ontario
Local tribe found me alone and cold and brought me to
Their chief. Chief Fuckemall
We introduced ourselves.
He proudly exclaimed" me fuck em all, tall , short, skinny, fat, pretty and ugly, me fuck em all!"

I said" oh dear!"

Chief say" no dear, ass too high, run too fast!"
