Worker pulled into wood chipper

[ QUOTE ]

how many cases have the been of a worker being knocked unconscious and chipped, or even maimed?

[/ QUOTE ]

Isn't it obvious that lone deaths cannot be definitively known?

The pertinent question is what percentage of these fatalities were solo?

Is there a connection there somewhere BB my friend?

Vermeers bars on ALL chippers stop feed rollers whether pulled or pushed.

On all vermeer WTC BB?

Are you actually saying that no vermeer chipper involved in these fatalities function exactly as I've described in terms of reverse bar operating positions?

Is that your position?

jomoco

are you clinically insane or just not well schooled? its obvious you're not reading my posts.

All NEW vermeers, I would say even 5-10 years old have this technology, up to and including the 2100.

could you answer these questions for me between lieing and changing the subject?

you're comparing the enclosed cabs of whole tree chippers, 36"+ with 800hp engines, to 18" chippers!? those units have NO reverse bars, or safety mechanisms that is why the operator is in a cab! correct?

Is there a proven chipper failsafe available to our industry at this time?

You didn't say new, you said all. And it's a ridiculously lame obfuscation of the functioning of the WTC's involved in these fatalities.

jomoco

go back & read bud, I have said new the whole time! this is a newer PROVEN!! design that is PROVEN to save lives!

don't try to make me out to be a liar, that's your game!

could you answer the qiestions now please?

There was at one time, but it appears that Mr. Morey himself decided not to continue producing them for some reason.

It is rather strange I'll grant you BB.

jomoco

Sorry to butt in here, BUT, Jomoco why wouldn't you market your device as an add-on, independant of any chipper manufacturer?

You could do your own field testing........and if the device proved to be durable and effective, the chipper manufacturing companies would be chasing after you to contract specifically to them.

Just a thought! <Brent ducking head now!>

that means he had a patent that wasn't tested in the field rigorously, just like yours and Mathers!

how about answering he other questions now?

you're comparing the enclosed cabs of whole tree chippers, 36"+ with 800hp engines, to 18" chippers!? those units have NO reverse bars, or safety mechanisms that is why the operator is in a cab! correct?

you're telling me that Mathers, Morey, & Jomocos inventions have all been rigorously field tested & proven then?

you're comparing the enclosed cabs of whole tree chippers, 36"+ with 800hp engines, to 18" chippers!? those units have NO reverse bars, or safety mechanisms that is why the operator is in a cab! correct?

No BB, I'm simply saying that if the owner of a chipper manufacturing corporation patented a simple and effective failsafe device accessable from inside the infeed hopper, the fact that he patented the device and installed it on some of his models sold, is an acknowledgement that the models are dangerous enough to warrant a failsafe device.

That he would then claim such devices are not necessary for safe operation of one of his chippers today is the height of hypocrisy self evident in his own line up of chippers or his patent record.

To state he now somehow can't produce such a simple safety feature is ludicrous in light of the growing death toll.

jomoco

of course he is going to use his patent in his chippers! just like vermeer-morbark-etc do! every industry does this, that is why we have a patent office to protect someones inventions from being used in anothers ideas!

can you clarify the question below? I have asked over 1 times now, enough with your lies and excuses for now.

you're comparing the enclosed cabs of whole tree chippers, 36"+ with 800hp engines, to 18" chippers!? those units have NO reverse bars, or safety mechanisms that is why the operator is in a cab! correct?

You astound me BB, really yu do mate.

I wish peter gerstenberger might be able to expain this glaring disparity that unnecessarily kills a growing number of treeworkers on the job.

I mean it was a simple effective, accessable, panic handle on a chain to stop the feed rollers for heavens sake.

jomoco

Think of how easy it would be to drill a whole in the feed table run a stout chain with a sturdy plastic handle on it though the hole to a hydraulic valve. A couple hundred bucks worth of hardware that could've been simply engineered and mandated twenty years ago when WTC's first came out. All these machines can be easily retro fit with mechanical panic handles, two of them for both right or left handed operators, it's simple, it's obvious, it works, he filed a patent for it guys.

It was issued in 99, why aint it on every WTC sold today?

Read the instructions with more conviction is a poor excuse not to supply a panic failsafe on every machine sold in my opinion, I suspect most rational juries will feel the same.

jomoco

if this device is so good and useful why wasn't it field tested for durability, and then mass produced?

why wasn't YOUR device field tested and mass produced?

Answer the question, mate.........

you're comparing the enclosed cabs of whole tree chippers, 36"+ with 800hp engines, to 18" chippers!? those units have NO reverse bars, or safety mechanisms that is why the operator is in a cab! correct?

you state that more "rationale juries will feel the same"

you HONESTLY think your testimony will be allowed in any US or Candian court of law after all the hate filled lies you have told here!

that's the best lie you've told so far!

please answer the following question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you're comparing the enclosed cabs of whole tree chippers, 36"+ with 800hp engines, to 18" chippers!? those units have NO reverse bars, or safety mechanisms that is why the operator is in a cab! correct?

if it were up to me......

you slander/lible people, you lie to try and scare your opponent, you lie, you have an extreme hatred and bias against American Chipper Manufactures, you lie, your inability to answer direct questions
