I'm going to take a wild guess and say that it tastes about the same as a $40 bottle of Irish Whiskey to 99.9% of the population.

I'd guess that it tastes better than a $40 bottle; not 1000X; but better.
That last very, very small % better, is always more $$$.

You may need some help getting out...
Keep an eye out for this distillery, particularly their ryes as they're winning praise and awards left and right. They don't distill but sure as Hell know how to source, blend, and cask with the best of them. Known for blending 2 year whiskeys with 16 year.
