btw, black cherry extremely common here. That's why I saw those two are black cherry. figured that maybe not common in Nebraska though.
 
Not Hamamelis (or Cornus/Cotynus but I see how similar it looks!)

I didn't know this bark got so flaky and patchy but then this is probably the biggest specimen I've seen.
