Treehumper down and getting back up.

Monday was the day to have some screws removed. Nice and simple. In and out in half a day. Then pain and drugs for the next 24 hrs. Small price to pay for future comfort, I hope.

Man you got some cankles going on there TH. :) But don't worry, they'll look a little sexier a year from now.
Glad to see progress being made and remember to follow Doc's orders. Good luck!

He either used some off the shelf bone or just let nature take it's course. I'll have to ask him.

Yeah, TL, I know, I know.... It's swelling, damn it.
Can you imaging the doctor..."Oh, we used to fill cavities with cement, but then we learned about the CODIB model. Compartmentalization of Decay in Bones..."

I'm just glad this guy wasn't the surgical assistant....

I spoke to the trauma room dr. he's going to see if he can get me the reports.

Different. Yep, not settle for anything but a union agains the stem. As I review it, despite the limb testing it obviously wasn't able to withstand the continued load though there was nothing to suggest its impending failure until microseconds before it broke. I tested what I could see was a less than ideal rope placement, rationalized that it would hold after testing it. In future I'm going to reset it to account for the unknown.

If you look at rope construction it has some stretch in it and the longer the rope the more stretch to absorb the weight/energy. So as you climb the line becomes more static with every step. The extra force is something to keep in mind once the stretch is out of your rope what will stretch next.

That said I'm sorry about the fall hope you heal up well and make good on your time off.
