Treehumper down and getting back up.

Hey tree humper, Saw a pic of you on old logger facebook forum, I guess your buddy posted. Ankle didn't look to bad just hairless lol. I really hope you recover quickly man thanks for sharing your incident too, it helps us all so much. Seems like your pretty positive guy so I am sure you will be back hopefully soon.

What is recover time for something like this?

After my neck fusion, I got into RC trucks. When your physical limits are squashed, you really need something yo keep your mind and body active. It's fun as hell with the kids and kept me from hoping insane.
Best of luck healing. Turmeric is your friend. Find a way to get off the opiates as soon as possible.
 
Man O man o man. What are you doing in bed? I'll start to gather some good books. Maybe I'll lend you my dvd collection you can organize while your laid up.
 
wow, I miss the buzz for a couple of days and I miss all that, I hope you recover well. I fell last year about 12' off a truck, landed on my head though so no ankle injuries :o , couldn't move very much for about 3 days. Get back to us with some of those nurses' arborist stories, maybe by the time you get back to work you'll have some reports comparable to Dr. Ball's.
 
I spoke to the trauma room dr. he's going to see if he can get me the reports.

Different. Yep, not settle for anything but a union agains the stem. As I review it, despite the limb testing it obviously wasn't able to withstand the continued load though there was nothing to suggest its impending failure until microseconds before it broke. I tested what I could see was a less than ideal rope placement, rationalized that it would hold after testing it. In future I'm going to reset it to account for the unknown.
 
It's a tricky game. I try to get it lined up so it fails into the next crotch. Or I get help to pull me from the shoulder straps till it hurts. Seems to me bouncing or bouncy ropes add to cycles to failure as well.. strip it all down and pinch a loaf on the next one bro:)
 
Those RC Drones are illegal in the state of New Jersey. If you see one fly over your house you can shoot it down.
 
Smoking weeds are illegal most places too, but I'm not gonna shoot you if you're smoking in my backyard.
Seriously though, I can understand the concerns of folks not wanting helis with cameras in there backyard.

Which you don't. I just can't imagine someone as calm, even-tempered and brimming with good judgement as you, not having some deeper turmoil beneath all that perfect serenity. Maybe there are better people out there in the world, walking amongst us, almost assimilating?

As for that deeper turmoil....catch me on a bad throwball day....

Here's a look at the ankle sans skin. Can't quite make out all the fracture lines running from the ankle joint but this gives an idea of what a fall like this will do.

I went to visit the humper himself today. He is good spirits for someone who is going to spend the summer indoors. lol Sorry, Rob. Going to try to do my best to keep him going till he's out of the cast. Shouldn't be to hard seeing he's a great conversationalist. rob's-leg.webp
