My clapped out La Sportivas finally had enough. Didn't have duct tape with us, but some electrical tape held until lunch, when the nice folks at the deli we ate at hooked me up.

Came home to find these new Hoffman Classics delivered a day earlier than expected, so there's the happy ending to my day.

500i down!
There was an incident yesterday, I wasn't there, this was the damage shown at today's end of day training event / get together we had.
I may tell the story in a different thread later right now we're all just super thankful the two very highly skilled guys are safe and only extremely embarrassed, obviously it could of went way worse! 20210507_161459.jpg

Hired a 60t, but crane company had that on another job so they sent us the brand new 120. 200 ft of main boom is a thing of beauty. Huge parking lot, only one set up with the extra reach, and damp enough to keep the dust from the 15 dead oaks we took down. Chipped into the woods and logs were piled on the property... In God's fur lined pocket today. Can't beat it. Cheers y'all.

Now that’s a crane!

Nice surprise today on a PHC visit. I did a root invigoration and root collar excavation on about 10 of these cherries in November and went a bit above and beyond building out the beds and thoroughly aerating the entire root zones. It was a nice surprise to see the landscaper take the hint of leaving it be and even utilizing the new beds and spent flowers. I love when an unplanned plan comes together, this one made me proud as an arborist and landscape designer.

Fun little job this morning. Tan oak fell on a local home with zero crane access, so it was old school..3 rigging Iines and 2 Hobbs devices..Brushed it out, lifted it off the house, bucked it off the rootball, then slowly and methodically taglined the entire tree off and away from the house...

Nice work! Incredible tree to rig off of also. Definitely spoiled to live in a place where giants like that are right near people's homes. From MA... A tree half that size would be a sight to see. Awesome!

Mush, or is that moosh?

Laminated root disease.

Not my k-boom.

Lady's first solo fell, limb, buck.
