Today....

Any issues with it getting stuck open? I had read about it, saw it on a “climbing arborist” video and then it actually happened to me when I was doing storm damage.
It's pretty easy to visualize what can happen if you look at the video below along with the description from simplyarbor in this thread: https://www.treebuzz.com/forum/threads/isc-triple-action-snap-heads-up.23750/

"I hope this makes sense... The small first action had somehow (??) slipped/jammed beneath the second action (back of the snap), allowing for the gate to open and close freely."

It's a beautiful piece of gear, but the first two pieces to move are just a little too thin where they touch.

Yeah that’s how it happened when I experienced it. Luckily I was tied in twice and wasn’t in a situation where it’d send me on an unexpected swing. The climbing arb video was much more chilling as he was spiking up with just lanyard.

I guess mine aren’t the same, they don’t have that other locking tab, just a single locking mechanism.

Wedging over a back-leaning 60' fir stick (gutting the hinge on these makes it so much easier).

I'm a big fan of hard-head wedges, use them on all the big trees I tip, and just bought some new ones two days ago. About three drives into the kerf the metal popped right off, look how tiny that weld is! For the record however, all the others I've bought and used have been fine, but still kind of annoying. Even the $15.99 price sticker is still untouched!

I'll be the third then. I bought a stack and one broke second time I used it.
