Today....

Biggest tree yet for me. 97’ was the reading I got on a forestry laser for this oak and wide spreading. Two of us pruning and 3 cables; although I had to go down early on due to new groundie not quite competent enough for the rigging parts. Went up a second time to finish the cabling off. The main climber was a champ for tackling a large portion of it soloCAF66373-7145-4C27-8B82-0859BAEAEB65.jpeg6F97A4A4-ECEA-4639-A8FE-D62F336E8A42.jpeg

Some monster wood in that sucker!

well? is it the bees knees? between 461 and 661? worth the sticker price? the reviews I've seen say yes. Just curious on your take.
For me absolutely ... Since I got the 462 and the 500 I don't even use my other saws. Truth is I gave my 461 to one of my guys and never looked back. The 462 is perfect with a 25" light bar (I like 20" too) and I run a 32" on the 500. They make smashing trees so easy compared to years prior. Really make a huge difference. And the weight is so good.

Put up a Christmas star today in the big Silver Maple in front of our house. I told my son it was to make sure Santa found his way here. Star is 7' across but looks small up there. All my neighbors love it. Super easy and quick to make the star, very annoying and time consuming to deal with the damn lights! I feel sorry for you fellas who have to do lights every year. A lift would certainly help but what would be the fun in that?

Went back to finish the pruning on that big oak I posted images of a few back. My foreman thinks it was actually bigger than 97’ when he was looking at his climbing line, so might have been a bad reading on the laser. We did another oak of similar size, a nasty one with lots of defects the day before together. Excited to get more and more competent in big trees.

And it looks like they're guarded pretty well, too.

My father worked at an Army base where they had German Sheppard guard dogs, and he'd bring home the retirees. From toddler through my teens, I almost always had a "police" escort.
Your right, he’s definitely got some German in him, and a few other breeds as well.... he’s a champion to me!
