rope runner

My new RR comes tomorrow, haven't used one yet. Have any of you guys used it with 11 HTP? I'd love to not have to buy a new rope.
That's my biggest concern with the runner. I have a Yale 11.7 but there's too much stretch with a base anchor after about 50 feet and from what I've read, unless your under 150 pounds people haven't had a ton of success with it. You could go up and switch to a canopy anchor but sometimes I can't justify the set up time and difficulty of retrieval after multiple redirects.

Hey fitz it started out as just a laugh at the end of a post, now I just use the emoji's as a humorous reference to several of my pics @ ArbTrek! Sorry, if offended. [emoji17]

Hi Jem, I tried the Runner on another climbers NE Calamine, that was a bouncy and scary ascent. The Prism, which I have heard, is being discontinued. My teammate @ ArbTrek, and a couple from Canada all tried the Runner with the Prism, yes it slipped a little, but I bought the rope a week before, no one noticed any bounce just a little slippage from the fact that the rope was still really smooth and had that new slippery feel to it. I don't know about the bounce, though.

Hey JT, I started out w/HTP, when I got my RRunner, the problem I was having, is the rope flattens out just enough to cause a bit of slippage, the Kernmaster 11mm is a great rope for the RRunner, it stays round even @ 200+lbs. haven't slipped at all with it, especially now that the anodizing on the back plate has worn a bit.

Htp 11m is my longtime favorite for ascending. I used to ascend with petzl croll , hand asecnder and pedal to the top and then work double rope. I have been working single line for a year , 6 months on the RR . My favorite rope to work with is the Kernmaster 11mm , it's soooo smooth , but for sure bouncy on the ascent when you do a basal anchor and use 120 feet of rope. I have tried so hard to find the right ajustment for the htp 11mm , but it don't work for me. 215 without gear. So slippy.... that is dangerous. What I do now when I do a basal anchor , is connect my kernmaster to my htp with a ring. Not very long to do , and it reduce the bounce a lot , because you are using only 60 feet of kernmaster , but still have the avantage. I know that some guys here on the buzz have good experience with Kmiii and Kmmax , winter shopping for me I guess. Hope it helps.

i don't know maybe I should give my blue moon another chance but when you have 200 hundred feet of it paid out to a base anchor the bounce can be tough to work with

I like it as well, Frank. Let us know how it works out for you. I like the Sugru right now, but its nice to have something permanent like that. Nice

Where did you get the permanent thumb plate at, Frank? I also use the Sugru, and I have to redo it after several weeks of heavy use. Thanks and it was cool getting to meet you in PA!
