rope runner

No looking back. Used to carry prussic and all the set up for the just in case I wanna switch back. It's either been sold or given away.

I still use tautline and sometimes without a snap on crane climbing. This is done more often than most as we have a crane, and I am the crane climber. No need for slack tending. Winch up...set a choker, rapel down, pull rope out after lanyard in, make a cut, repeat. No need for anything but a piece of rope really.

But for daily climbing I am zig zag and bdb depending on how I feel about circumstances. Gave my wrench and cords to my GM.

Is it better to use the top pin in the bird assembly as a slick pin or the bolt instead because it seems like my runner has a tend to get choppy because the slick pin likes to rotate. Any thoughts?
New to treebuzz just purchased a rope runner and having a hard time picking out the right rope would love to have some recommendations thank you

I've been using the Yale Kernmaster and just tried some Yale Prism, I noticed the Prism doesn't stretch as much. The Kernmaster has a little more bounce on longer ascents/descents. Love both of them for the Rope Runner, and the Bulldog Bone. They're both great ropes. They're also both spliceable, I haven't tried Cougar yet, maybe next year!

Well Mr. Bascome, unless the rope guru, Nick Araya throws his hat into the arena, you've got a good lead on some very good choices of ropes.. Oh, I can't forget, TreeStuff. com Rocks! They have the best price on any of these climbing.ropes. Happy Shopping & Climb Safely! Enjoy your new Runner...

Hi Paul. Still in England? Hope all is going great.

Oh crap David, nah I am back in Barbados...realized that the tropics is where I belong...nice adventure but just could not cope with the weather...since being back I have kicked my biz up a notch and things are going very well....

Thanks David, hope all is good on your side....on rope selection....for a runner my choice is any PI line, then Sumac, arrowfrog, aztec.....all YALE 11.7...throw kern to the curb and cougar is a pass

I've used Cherry bomb, Yale 11.7, Tachyon, Kernmaster, and KM-III 1/2". Each have their pluses and minuses, but overall I like the KM-III the best for the RR.
