Looks just like mine Steve.
The bird is much easier to break now for descending, and it is overall much less jerky and easier to feather sweet soft landings etc.

It is much smoother. No safety issues with performance now. Not that there ever was though. I like it better broken in.

6 months since my last RR and instantly it all came back. Spent about an hour today just ascending so I could bomb back down and stop like a feather. Wow I missed this thing! Said about a million times by all but....Fantastic device Kevin.

I've been using the bump since Sept. I'm still undecided. I think I like the regular flat one better.

I think it adds a modicum of friction on ascent, but not enough to bother me. But on descent it is treating me pretty well, for the reason Frank just stated.
That's just it, you gain in one area and lose in the other, I guess it's where you prefer that gain.
The 1/2 KM3 we are using the bump adds just a bit too much friction on ascent for me. Probably won't be as much of an issue with smaller/smoother ropes. I do really like the bump on decent though, instead of a on-off gas, you can push down a little easier and have a bit more range of "gas" and "brake" but still stop a little faster. Like having high performance brake pads.
Now that my RR is broken in, the pressure on the bird isn't that bad, especially with a little Plasti Dip.
IMO it's not an upgrade, it's just...different.

Sorry to butt in guys, but 11.7mm w/bump, 13mm w/o bump. I don't like the bump at all, but that's my personal preference. Once the anodizing gets scuffed on the friction plate you will not have any jerky or sliding issues at all. My friend tried mine @ ArbTrek w/11.7mm Prism, he weighs 260, w/o gear and had no problems at all. Smooth as "Silk", same for me @ 175 w/o any gear. Smooth ascent for both of us and even on a really fast descent, we stopped on a dime, no slipping at all. The anodizing is the culprit! I hope this helps, even if it's just a little.. I am on my second flat body now, the anodizing is long gone.
I haven't had an issue with the bump adding too much friction on the kmiii. Really the amount added for me isn't much.
I did try it out on a new piece of marlow venom 11.8 yesterday. With bump. Descent was rapid. It was pretty amazing. The rope moved so fast thru the device it felt like I was out of control, but as soon as I released pressure on the bird I slowed and stopped. Gonna havta try the runner on some 11.7s again. At least for play time.

My new RR comes tomorrow, haven't used one yet. Have any of you guys used it with 11 HTP? I'd love to not have to buy a new rope.
