... I'm going to try it with Vortex this afternoon which is a listed rope.
These mechanicals really do work best with ropes leaning towards the kernmantle side of things. I’m over 225 with all my gear on and had a great time years ago with 11mm KMIII, and even Escalator. Can’t shock load these ropes if the belay device is set to slip just above WLL. I’m pretty sure @macswan rocked 1/2” KMIII on his Runner with much success for quite a while.I'm probably 20-30# over listed WLL geared up. It really flattens out the line. jasons great to deal with also, been buying all my arborist gear from them this yearJust thought I'd mention for anyone interested that maple leaf ropes has 4 or 5 rope runner pros in stock! CAD $519 shipped.

I've not heard this before. I have used it in this configuration on a crane, it definitely does not excel compared to SRS but it does work fine.I have seen comments that say the OG RR is not to be used in mrs co figuration...why not?
I have not used either in the mrs configuration but want to experiment with it. My OG runner will be moving to my northern gear stash and I would like to be able to use it both ways.
