Re: OTCC sign up forms

It pains me that I will miss such a fine event..did that sound passionate, it's so hard to convey tone over the net...anybody know what I mean?

Re: OTCC sign up forms

Sorry for not updating information earlier, but here it goes:

No need for the accu-arbor forecast Stephan, after the events over Easter weekend ( 20 + inches of snow) the weather for our event could not possibly be any worse so no matter what I am sure our climbers will be fine. Oh yeah, I forgot, it rained non stop for last years event....ok I'm sorry let me clarify...the rain did finally stop but not until after the last climber was out of the work climb!!!!!!! We had to reschedule the Master Climb but to our climbers credit everyone gutted it out with with amazingly good cheer and excellent displays of climbing talent. Of course if the weather is bad we could always reschedule the event for Milwaukee. (sorry inside joke for Cle. Indians fans)

Morice, sorry for the scheduling conflicts. We are definitely going to miss having you at this one. The Ohio Chapter TCC will be lacking without your talents and enthusiasm. Hopefully next year we can get you the information earlier to make sure you can block the dates out on your calendar. I look forward to helping you out at next years CAA TCC, and don't worry about the sushi....I won't make you try the raw quail egg

As for Stephan, Vince, Norm, Tyler, Roger, Keith, Scotty, Jason, and everyone else who has either volunteered to help out at our TCC and/or supported the competitors with well wishes and encouragement I can't thank all of you enough. It will truly be an honor to work with all of you on this event and I know that our competitors will all benefit from your knowledge, professionalism, and attitude. If our event goes anywhere near as well as the CAA, or Georgia TCC's we will be in great shape.

As of today we have 20 men and 3 women signed up. Anyone on the fence on this once should sign up first and decide later..we are gonna be full soon. I know of 2 more women who may compete and plenty of long time competitors are not on the list yet, so don't delay in getting signed up.

More updates coming soon.....

Important Update for OTCC and Seminar

This is an update that I absolutely did not want to make, but here it goes.

Due to the fact that I was unable to gain the required sponsorship dollars to underwrite our scheduled seminar for June 1st the Ohio Chapter has decided to pull the plug on the event and to focus instead solely on the TCC. This decision was not easily made as our Chapter was extremely excited to have Mark, Melissa, and Tod come out and spread their knowledge to our members and climbers. The Chapter would like to thank Mark, Tod, and Melissa for all of their efforts on our behalf and for their willingness to work with us in attempting to make this seminar come to pass. I would absolutely like it to be known that Mark, Tod, and Melissa all offered to offset some of their expenses in order to help us make this seminar happen. It is a true showing of the kind of class, professionalism, and desire to help out their fellow arborists that we have come to expect from them and hopefully will never take for granted.

I personally would like to apologize to Mark, Tod, Melissa, and all of our members who were hoping to attend this seminar for my failure in securing the necessary sponsorships. Considering the funds required for sending two climbers to ITCC this year I more than likely bit off a little more than I could chew with our plans for the seminar. It is our hope that this can be learning experience for us so that we will be able to have this caliber of seminar take place as soon as possible for our members.

The cancellation of the seminar will not affect in any way the running of the TCC scheduled for June 2nd. We have every intention of putting on the safest, most professional TCC that we can and I would like to thank all of the volunteers in advance for their help and sacrifices in making it happen.

If there are any questions concerning any of this please feel free to contact me or Chris Andrews at the Ohio Chapter ISA.

Re: Important Update for OTCC and Seminar

And I will still eat sushi with you when I get there.

You are the man, Rich. If anyone could have humanly pulled off the seminars, you would have been that human....alas.

There is always next year to be bigger and better.

I can't wait to get up there and build a snowman in June!

Re: Important Update for OTCC and Seminar

It's alright....... I'm still in for the competition. Looking forward to meeting some more of the buzzers there and with the way the weather is in the midwest it could happen I agree. If it does we team up and have a snowball fight.

Re: Important Update for OTCC and Seminar

Be more than happy to lone you some long underwear or an onion suit. Always carry warm gear behind the seat of the truck. One of those things you never know when the weather may change here.

Re: Important Update for OTCC and Seminar

Yea had my longjohns on Mon. got down to 52 it was warmer in NY. Thanks I really may need it ITCC Pit. sweatshirt till noon.

Re: Important Update for OTCC and Seminar

Now you're just ridiculous Scotty. 52 and you had longjohns on? 52 is like the beginning of summer for us around here. I would love that kind of weather. I still think this will be one of the better competitions with all the support and help coming from the various locations around. Look forward to meeting you all for some beverages and some sushi.

Re: Important Update for OTCC and Seminar

52 is t-shirt weather Scotty. Thats about my favorite weather to work in.

I was origionally going to call off my trip to Cleveland when I heard about no seminars, but I guess I'll go anyways. Miss a chance to hang out with a bunch of tree geeks? Are you serious? Of course I'm coming.

I'm dragging RogerM with me. Kicking and screaming, but he's coming. "Damnit Roger, you're going, and you'd better have a good time! Stop giggling!"

Re: Important Update for OTCC and Seminar

Holy Crap, this is going to be one good TCC!

I am so bummed that my personal secretary, John Maurice, will not be able to attend.

As stated in previous posts, he makes a killer cup of coffee.

And if John is reading this, I am just kidding, and get back to cambistating.

He can't have fun, unless Kyle goes.

Re: Important Update for OTCC and Seminar

I can't wait. I wish it was time for to get together for it this next weekend. Well not quite since turkey is in season. Plus it's getting WARMER.............. That's right we haven't had snow around for a while but it might be back in June.

Re: OTCC sign up forms

I am about to reserve my hotel room for Friday and Saturday, maybe even Sunday. We'll see.

Who all is in for the Sushi Extravaganza on Saturday night?

Rich told me tonight that he likes Philly rolls minus the rice, cream cheese, and seaweed wrapper.
