Mini Skids

So, I saw another user on Tree Buzz rave about THE BAGSTER. Sold at Home Depot for 29.99. I'll tell you what, this is a super sweet thing to use with the BMG grapple. We have been doing storm damage cleanup of White Pine limbs. Having this bag has saved us SO much time with not having to make a hundred trips to the chipper. Just showing others how great this tool is. If you don't have one, go buy one. Again not my idea, I saw it from another user here on TB IMG_0408.webpIMG_0415.webp

I'm bringing a 420 back with me this coming weekend to do some videos with. Lemme know if there is something specific you want to see. I'm planning on shooting a comparison video of it to the 140 and 532. I also plan on shooting a walk around video and some working videos.

Luv the bagster for big properties with lots of cleanup in multiple areas.

hook the handles up to the rigging bollard it works way better. you will get bugger loads as well and the handle being up will help you dump big loads. release the strap closest to the machine lift up tuck the loose handle under the bagster lower down and drag backwards. a couple of tugs and flips and the gagster will be free. we use our grapple truck to unload the bags into the bed of the truck.

We own two vermeers both with vermeer grapples , we don't carry brush more than 24 in off the ground. We have found there is a learning curve but once you learn a good operator can keep up and pass a BMG operator ! I have yet to see a BMG pick up a 36 in log 4 ft long or bigger and not have it fall out , I used one on an avant and one on a boxer so it's not hear say .
Put the Vermeer grapple on an Avant and it will fall out also

What is the payload capacity on your trailer? It looks like a lowes special, and I cant imagine you are not over weight on it. Stump weights 1750 and lightest dingo is 1882.

I want to get a Cam Am tilt trailer (single axle) for this reason...they have a payload of 5,000 lbs

Another option Midsota single Axle 7000#, power up and Down platform see it working at the end of this video

We have been doing a fair amount of white pines recently, been bringing the bucket for the snow clearing and boy has it helped out with the final clean up. Scrape it along the frozen ground then give the pile a kick or two to set it in the bucket scoop it up and feed it to mr.chipper like it's feeding time!

Definitely gotta get me some bagster for when the ground is too soft to scrape.

I just bought my first Bagster this week off Amazon, $27 delivered I believe it was. They should be quite handy on bigger jobs and limited access work.

Nice driving! If you can make some more videos of the scoops. Im thinking of buying them.

I wonder if TreeVet will chime in about how much better the toro grapple is. :)
Thanks.

He probably will...but he didn't have too much to say after I posted a video for him, per his request, of using the BMG on stacked wood.

Honestly, I like the scoops but I don't use them much. IMO they work well for small stumps, especially if not deeply ground, and for rakings/small debris. They also are nice because they don't destroy the turf around what you are trying to pick up.

But for larger stumps, and deep grinding, I prefer a mulch bucket. One, the bucket holds more. Two, the bucket digs better. If the grindings get packed down, from grinder or mini, the scoops have a hard time pulling it up...it just slides across the top like it does on turf.

I do want/plan to get some videos of using the scoops and rake in different scenarios though.

Another mini skid clip, and another reason I chose the BMG. This one showing using the rake as a snow plow...and how it does not damage the lawn area. Is great for clearing a path to the work tree, or clearing out snow under the tree for easier branch clean up.
