Mini Skids

Had some fun with my Vermeer 650tx today...pushing a 2,700 log (rough dimension of 24"x23' Tulip poplar). I was pushing around some others too, but I think this was the heaviest.

that's hard to watch...cut that pos in half if it really weighs 27 hun and toss it in the dump trailer and get back to making money!

A. I should have grabbed the end with the grapple, and slightly lifted, before pushing...would have went the first time then.

B. Homeowner was selling the logs...so I was leaving it as long as possible. It is what the crane laid down.

I agree it wasn't the best case scenario, but it is what I had

How I should have grabbed the log.

All my back can say is thank goodness for the mini this week! This was after day 1, piles 3 times as big now. Have a guy coming to get the logs, most red pines, but some nice big spruce logs in the mix! Clearing lots is nice in the winter as you can skid the bigger logs better through the snow, only better thing would be heated handle grips and heater for the legs ! Was a bit chilly in the mornings!

Heater for my left hand that operates the tracks. It (the hand) gets colder quicker than my right one when operating the mini, probably because it is resting against that steel bar.
If chainsaws can have heated handles, why not miniskids?
