Grassroots for Bernie Sanders 2016

Will you vote for him

  • Yes

  • No

Results are only viewable after voting.
And speaking of constitutional law, Cruz doesn't fit that constitutional "national-born-citizen" requirement necessary for him to be allowed to become president, even if he did manage to scrounge up the votes.

I must've missed the whole muslims raping in the streets of Denmark thing on CNN. "Unconstitutional" is the battle cry of the butt hurt neocons because they've marginalized themselves into an ever diminishing minority and don't like that an elected leader voted in twice by a clear majority is making good things happen for that majority. If he's so freakin' unconstitutional, then why haven't the republicans initiated impeachment proceedings? Because they've got nothing.. that's why.
That's easy--because many of them are a part of the "Washington Elite."

As for being marginalized, right has never been in the majority. Do you know how many colonists refused the King's taxes? How many rose up in revolt? Small percentage--many paid for their convictions with their life.

You talk of a majority--did you know that you do not live in a Democracy? I know they don't teach civics in school anymore, but this is simple stuff.

Didn't mean to be an asshole. I just think we are heading for a major war in an attempt to save the US economy and preserve US hegemony.
I beleive that is one of the "solutions" that is being attempted.

If that answer fails to satisfy you, by all means, continue calling me names.
War a solution, yeah right.. I think I will if that's your perception...Ignorance definitely dissatisfies me

As far as burning, raping and looting in their streets…. that's just another day in America perpetrated by Americans on other Americans. Don't need no immigrants for that…
You can see the graph of crime per country at http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/Crime/Total-crimes

The first footnote states:
At first glance, the United States appears to stand out in this statistic, having four times as many crimes as Germany which is next on the list. However this is misleading as the population of the United States is about four times as high as the population of Germany. As a country with a high population is likely to have more crime (there are more people to commit crimes), this statistic should br viewed per capita. In per capita ranking, the United States falls to number 8, between the United Kingdom (No. 6)and Germany(No. 12).

And speaking of constitutional law, Cruz doesn't fit that constitutional "national-born-citizen" requirement necessary for him to be allowed to become president, even if he did manage to scrounge up the votes.
Is that a talking point Cerviarborist, or do you know of what you speak? If so, what part of the Constitution are you citing?

The part you don't get from Rush Limbaugh. The part that Cruz' own professor of constitutional law has publicly commented on, with regard to the definition of "natural born citizen" That part. School yourself before you presume to comment on my education or upbringing.

I'll read it.

Just to get a rise out of you:hola:

Personally I do not believe that it makes a difference who is in office, just a big show to distract us from what is really happening.
- An astounding $7.5 trillion increase in the national debt, bringing it up to $18 trillion

- Millions of Americans have dropped out of the labor force, with participation rates at 30-year lows, and creative Washington math no longer counts these people in unemployment figures

- Median household incomes have dropped more during the “recovery” than during the recession

- More business startups are dying than being created

- 20 more million Americans are on food stamps

- The poverty rate is up to nearly 50 million

It does matter who is in office.

Easy Hoss-->I wasn't presuming on your education or upbringing-->I simply asked if they were talking points. So, here's in answer to your query:

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States. Article II, Section 1, Clause 5

So, what is a "natural born citizen"?

"As early as 1350, the British Parliament approved statutes recognizing the rule of jus sanguinis, under which citizens may pass their citizenship by descent to their children at birth, regardless of place. Similarly, in its first naturalization statute, Congress declared that "the children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond the sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens." 1 Stat. 104 (1790). The "natural born" terminology was dropped shortly thereafter. See, e.g., 8 U.S.C. § 1401(c). But the question remains whether the term "natural born Citizen" used in Article II includes the parliamentary rule of jus sanguinis in addition to the common law principle of jus soli. In United States v. Wong Kim Ark (1898), the Supreme Court relied on English common law regarding jus soli to inform the meaning of "citizen" in the Fourteenth Amendment as well as the natural-born–citizenship requirement of Article II, and noted that any right to citizenship though jus sanguinis was available only by statute, and not through the Constitution. Notwithstanding the Supreme Court's discussion in Wong Kim Ark, a majority of commentators today argue that the Presidential Eligibility Clause incorporates both the common-law and English statutory principles, and that therefore, Michigan Governor George Romney, who was born to American parents outside of the United States, was eligible to seek the Presidency in 1968." http://www.heritage.org/constitution/#!/articles/2/essays/82/presidential-eligibility

Who do we owe? How would we pay? A freightliner full of $100 bills? It's a joke, really. And furthermore who would have the balls to collect? The "national debt" is yet another fabrication designed to distract us.
Levi--are you being serious?

And why didn't you post the most current rankings to begin with?
Does it really matter? The fact remains, that the very political system you're afraid of creates a happier society and one which is economically successful. To say, well, we're soooo big it's hard to make everyone happy is ridiculous. Then it's ok that we leave many unhappy? Which ones? While that is essentially what's happening it goes to the point. The US is willing to see fewer participate in the economy to satisfy the few who will benefit the most from it. This is a country full of resources that needlessly are squandered.

Those who have dropped out of the labor force have never been counted as part of the unemployed so that's a non-starter.

Median income from 2012 to 2013 went up but not statistically significantly.

Start ups….
Startup Activity Index

• The Startup Activity Index rose in 2015—reversing
a downward trend that started in 2010—experiencing the largest year-over-year increase from the past two decades.

Rate of New Entrepreneurs

• Looking inside the components of the Startup Activity Index, the Rate of New Entrepreneurs in the United States increased about 10 percent, from 280 out of 100,000 adults in the 2014 Startup Activity Index to 310 out of 100,000 adults in the 2015 Index. The

Rate of New Entrepreneurs of 0.31 percent translates into approximately 530,000 new business owners each month during the year.

But really don't the last two point just go to the fact that America is willing to leave many out of the economy while few reap fortunes from market play?

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...84a7d0-b7af-11e5-99f3-184bc379b12d_story.html There's a big difference in the right to seek, and the right to hold.
Read that opinion by the law professor. Also read the other opinion articles by other law professors who disagree.

Bottom line is, there are 2 types of citizens; 1. natural born 2 naturalized. Being born to a US citizen, Cruz didn't have to be naturalized--he was natural born. Same as a kid born to a service-member overseas. Naturalized citizens have requirements to meet: in country residence time, file applications, take a test, take an oath, etc. It's really an in-depth process. I saw guys go through it in the Navy.

I agree that the precise understanding of what “natural born citizen” meant in 1787 is somewhat foggy. However, the elections of John McCain, & George Romney have already proved that the courts see no issue.

I'll get to the rest in a bit, but just off hand, what sort of nonsense is this? Happiness? Really? How was that measured Treehumper? You do know that happiness is a relative term? Are we kindergarteners?
