Hey everybody, I had a great time..meeting old friends & new friends and the comp was was off the hook!

Special thanks to you Scotty, YOU ARE AWESOME! Please tell Joann that I said thanks again for the extreme hospitality, she is a SAINT!

Blinky....well, you and I connected on a level that...well I'm never going to forget the moments we shared. We laughed, we cried,... the good times, and the bad times...oh yeah and me being in your frickin' way all the time. I will cherish it forever.

For those I didn't mention, like JZ and the Kentucky crew (you know TR as I like to call him), Kathy, Kristian, Rich, Jim, Bruce, Rocky Top, the Morningoods.............I will see you all later and had a great time!

OK tree lovers, sorry for the delay but here is a link to the photos that I took. I'm usually pretty picky to watch for image quality (like blurriness) and delete anything less than perfect. However, I have a feeling that you will all like to see the action and excitement of even the blurry and dark images. As it is, I deleted almost 600 photos and that still left almost 500! So get comfortable and enjoy . . .

By the way, SSkrocki is Steve, Scotty's neighbor and husband of ebb. Just thought I'd clear that up. By the way, I'm working on a slide show that can be found at the same link - it will be a later today or tomorrow.

Here here... nice touch.

Thanks for taking so much time to shoot the event and process the images. It's a lot of work. Thank you and Ebb for allowing us into your home to celebrate our relentlessly advancing age. The images are awesome, I plan on ordering a few.

Thanks SOOOO much for taking the pics and putting them up for us to look at.

The very last picture tells a lot! Not unlike the closing credits of the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. The jobs not finished until the cleanup is done.

I for one enjoyed the pics of Diehl fighting of the Scotty's romantic advances. You can really see the terror in his eyes.

Nice work on all of the pictures Steve, and thanks again to you and Ebb for letting a bunch of crazy tree workers party at your house.

Wow
One week later and I still have a bunch of thank you's to put out there.
First has to be Tom Dunlap who bought me flowers and a bottle of wine Saturday night. Nobody has ever given me flowers before.
Thanks Tom.
Scotty

And don't think for a moment that I would forget the TEAM of climbers and ground support that came from far and near to make this TCC become a truly safe and fun competition, with a lot of learning going on with the younger and Geezers alike.
So I will not name all the help that showed up. I am honestly afraid I'll have a Geezer moment and forget somebody really important, because every one there was really IMPORTANT to ME... THANKYOU to all 15 states that was represented here this past week end. It could not have been done with out you..
I truly hope to see you all again next year.
Scotty and all the Geezers

Scotty,

The gifts are a small way of saying thankyou for all of the time and boundless energy that you put into this event. Like Alex Shigo said, 'Compartmentalization is good for trees but not the people who take care of them.' The Geezer Inv. and all of the TCC is an excellent way of spreading the good virus that infects us.

A couple of days ago I got an email from a friend who was able to put into words what I've struggled to say about the TCC for a long time:

Still it is the best day of the year for me. I never felt closer to any group of people than I do with my fellow tree workers. Like minded group I think.

Let's hope that more like minded groups will continue to have meetings like this.

OK, just this last little bit of the story, for those of you who could not make it, or for those of you who might have forgotten what might or might not have happened.
It started out Thursday afternoon when the first to arrive was Jersey Girl Then the planes started to arrive and tents are being put up. We probably received little sleep with people coming in all night long. Tents ,tree boats, and sleeping mats going up everywhere.
Up early on Friday morning and out to the site. Basic set up including rebarr and caution tape done by 9:45 just tweaking the WC and AR and a whole lot of fun climbing going on. And Lot's more of Tree folks keep showing up.
It's time for sushi and I have to go the airport to pick up more climbers, so somebody else will have to fill you in on the bait eating.
When I arrived home Friday evening I was following a fire truck into the neighborhood. Yep coming to my house, Some of the others who didn't want to eat bait had come back and stared a small fire, Well the FD said have a great night just put the fire out when your done cooking. (thank you Deltona FD)
Now it gets a little sad, at 7:50 PM my next neighbour came over and asked if I could keep the KID"S quiet. Well my answer was of course "No, I can't, two of the children have just arrived Mam and spent 6 hour's in a van to get here, what would your children do in this situation Mam? "Well I guess she dose not like hearing the word NO and she called the Sheriff's office and they came over and there was about 15-20 people here at the time 8:30ish We were told to have a great night. So about 45 mins later she did no like hearing No from the PD so she called again and this time THREE car's showed up and the one's eating bait were showing up and seeing friends that they might not have seen yet, so what I'm getting at is everyone was just them self's, beer drinking storytelling ETC. PD again have a great night.
You might think that this would be the end of it, but I'm sorry to say they came back one more time and said they wont be back your having a lawful night, I'm sorry, probably see you tomorrow night .(said with a laugh)
Saturday The rain held off till the awards ceremony which was awesome. We had a very safe and fun day of climbing.
We arrived back at my house were my friend Tommy cooked over 120#'s of meat plus the fixing's all day. We ate all but 3-5#'s of food. Joanne figured we had 85-90 people here for dinner. After we ate the rain stopped and we started a nice small fire at my neighbours house. I can say up till 2AM everyone had a blast after that is up to one of you who was up till 5:45. (as I was leaving the neighbors next door to Ebb and Steve were just joining the party)
Sunday morning a Big breakfast cooked by my LOVING wife and friends, trash picked up, some had to leave and some didn't.
Those of them that stayed went back to the site to retrieve two pieces of yellow tape and the pole. About 13 climbers were needed to accomplish this task.
Later we went and saw the Big tree park, back to my place and old EZ started telling about a certain type of movie he seams to enjoy and received his new nick name of Cubby or Cubby hole. The later is how he is now stored in my phone.
The rest of you left on Monday morning.
What a great time I and my family and most of my neighbors had. THANKYOU.
