Portland, has been in chaos for a very very long time... Boy could I tell you stories.. Shit, my dad had some great stories of running from the cops back in the day, but that was in the 40's... From the footage I saw, it was only one person smashing shit up. It's very common for people to purposely escalate, in order to paint the protester's in a poor light... If the cops beat the crap out of a bunch of nuns sitting the street people are pissed. If the beat on some kid with a pipe smashing things, they get to stop the whole show... Your 24, spend some time asking around, talking to people before you become so judgmental.

Hahahah your wild their rioting in multiple cities. Dozens of ppl have been arrested... and if a million illegal ppl in our industry were fired jobs would be freed and the need for picking up the slack would be lucrative for other people in our industry

I think a Chess match should be mandatory for the last presidential debate of an election cycle. That way we could see how a particular candidate strategizes.
I think you should focus on become a more qualified and educated arborist. Better jobs could then be had. I could recommend many resources and study options.

And there isnt a soul on this thread who advocates that deplorable behavior. Civil disobedience is one thing but destruction is a whole other matter.

From what I'm seeing you guys basically had to dive into a cesspool, paddle around, and decide whose shit stunk the least. I doubt that's the democracy the founding fathers had in mind.
Are there actually a million illegals in the industry down there? That seems absurdly high. Also, say there are and say they're all kicked out, you'll still be making $22/hr. The wages in the industry are based off what the consumer (customer) is willing to pay. Just because their is more work to be had does not mean the consumer is going to pay double the rate so everyone can get $40/hr when perfectly legal American Johnny Bumfuck and his pick up truck are still around to undercut you at every turn.

No one here has said they supported Hilary. Trump on the other hand does have some good ideas, but so many of them are so so bad... On a very serious level, I am a white male, my wife is mixed race, and I have a very large social circle of queer friends. What this means for my family is that we have to watch our backs against Trump's extremist supporters. Have you seen where he just randomly points a finger and tells his supporters "Get him?" I do really wish you would travel a little before you think you know how it all is for everyone..

Hey Sugar, I'm sorry but this ain't nothing.. These "riots" you speak of are nothing, they are protests, they are non permitted, then the cops show up and tell every one they are part of an illegal protest. The surround the protesters on three sides and tell them to disperse, and then open up on them. There are some fundamentals here 1st amendments ect... Sure some rocks may be thrown, a window broken here or there, but keep this in context.. The police have sound cannons, tasers, beanbag shot guns, pepper spray, tear gas... I highly suggest you go to one of these events, you don't have to wave a sign, just observe and watch.
Yes there are people who use the crowd as cover to start shit, but most of the time the protesters are not the ones escalating the situation.

No your skills make you valuable. I am an owner of a company who is in search of help all the time. I look for the best quality, most professional, skilled people around me. That pool to pull from is slim. I hired based on skill set, experience, and knowledge. I don't care if your black, white, gay, woman, man, transgender.....Dosn't matter to me. I want someone who can come in everyday on time, produce at a high level, and make my customers happy. I just hired a guy at 35 an hour. I paid him that because that is what he is worth. Not because their were no illegal immigrants applying for the position.
