Could you imagine Russia invading North America through Alaska and the US - with the help of Canadian funds and weapons - holds them to a stalemate at the Alaska/Yukon border...and then Canada elects a new prime minister who suddenly starts negotiating to end the war by meeting with Russia first, leaving the US in the dark? And telling the press in advance that the US should not expect to get Alaska back? And then the new Canadian PM scolds the US for starting the war in the first place?

Trump said he would end the war in his first 24 hours in office ("maybe before then"). I never considered that was a threat and not a promise, even if I knew he couldn't do it.

BTW, noon Saturday came and went and Hamas is still holding hostages. When is "all hell going to break out"?
 
In the history of dictatorial regimes I have never heard of them giving the people "more" power to bear arms.

You guys are wallowing in an echo chamber of things you want to believe. Try looking at why these things are happening outside of the "Hitler" hypothesis.

I skimmed this last article allegedly from ‘The White House’. Then I noticed corporate logos at the bottom center of the last page

This interview might sound contradictory at first but if you listen to the end it becomes clear and in my mind rational.



 
A few online friends lost their jobs as urban foresters, I guess their jobs were funded via grants from the Arbor Day Foundation. The grants had some DEI language (increasing access to trees and their benefits to disadvantaged communities). No more urban foresters in those lil cities!

Some local folks in the Forest Service did a lot of important research after Helene tracking patterns in the forests here that I’m using in my research. I hope they are still employed but I’m guessing they’re not. And FEMA cuts announced today aren’t going to help this recovery go any faster.

But this is all still abstract and not a big deal or something?

I do appreciate that we have access to guns and I’m very happy to exercise that right. Sort of a silver lining. Much more effective than pitchforks
