Shane, don't get me wrong dude.. Trump is.. Uh... Well.... Whatever.
But what's with the quotations? And all these "not my president" things I see everywhere. Like it or not.. He indeed is your president. I think people are missing the picture. In my mind.. It's less about trump and this asshat WE (canada) have as a leader, and more about the confidence that our people have in our political system. This all just feels like radical knee jerk reactions to radical feelings of neglect from existing run of the mill politicians.. Regardless of party. What state of mind are we in as a collective group to even CONSIDER this.. Let alone have it happen. Maybe it will be the downfall of the corrupt shit political system we have in north America. Doubt it, though.
The quotes are are two fold: There is all this ridiculous discussion over his use of quotes in tweets, if he should be taken literally or not, and wether he was joking, lying, actually quoting someone, or not.
The other, I'm quoting TC.
It's a way to point out hypocrisy and irony to those who get the inside joke.
Yes, I've acknowledged he is the president elect...he is our suit in the office, legally.
But, he does not hold any moral, ideological, or principals that align with me or 60% of the country.
It's like when someone has a real shitty family member, where legally they are related, but by principal they say "he isn't my brother". It's a symbolic statement.
I 100% agree with you - he is just a symptom of a much larger problem in our own issues as a country: diss appearance of the middle class, greed, corruption, class and ethnic divisions, and so on.
This thread is title f#ckstick von clownstick. JD nailed it and our pres elect has not disappointed to show how much of a clown we as a nation are being.
So bottom line - "not my president".
