While we celebrate the pending end to this disastrous four years, we need to not loose sight of the fact that tRump is only the tip of the iceberg. The reality is we have almost half this country's population who either share his value system and are just like him, or else are so gullible and uneducated that they are easily led by someone who convinces them that he represents their interests. Despite an entire first term of almost constant lying, criminal handling of the pandemic that cost many thousands of lives, and the crudest, most oafish behavior we have ever seen in the White House, seventy-something million Americans still voted for this con artist. tRump made it not only OK to be racist and ignorant, but he made it something to be proud of. He made these many millions feel represented for the first time. This problem is not going to go away anytime soon. There is a dangerous fringe to this side of the population who are willing to believe the most outlandish conspiracy tales, who have no respect at all for actual democracy; and a lot of these nutcases bolster their fragile male egos with extensive gun ownership. We even just had a visit recently from a few of them right here on the Buzz. These morons will not soon forgive the country for getting rid of their hero.
