Exactly, could have been just a few seconds... seems unreal... that's a terrible lesson.. such an unforgiving profession...
Someone posted a link to the Brazilian that got electrocuted trying to carry out the body of another victim... I was replaying it a few times, watching with complete concentration, when a friend asked me why would I want to keep watching such a bad scene... "Because it keeps me sharp... when I get around those wires I want to know and remember that they are death"...
When someone as amazing as Cameron dies, it sends a wave of shock throughout the industry. If this can happen to him, it can happen to any of us.. Its that quick... life and death.. Take your mind of the task at hand, right here right now, and you (or someone else) can die...
We all live with that every time we go to work. Don't take it for granted. Use it to keep your focus on safety. And don't expect anyone else to understand it.
Dealing with work, day after day, where small decision can lead to death, creates what is really a mild form of PTSD..
I know a couple men that worked for Cameron and briefly met him at a TCC, and of course know his posts here.. Sorry to see you go so young brother, and grieve your children's loss.. Good journey to the Spirit World..
