Fellow buzzer has passed

I am not a regular to this site , I read a pasted post from this site on FB, I did not know Cameron either he operated his business not more then 4 miles from me , I respect him . I heard about his accident like many others from a frantic fellow tree man .I immediately called my wife to let her know I was OK in case she heard anything on the news , after I told her what had happened we admittedly cried together . The emotion my wife showed for a complete stranger reminded me that I am also a lot like him a husband and a father of 2 children and a small business owner operator , that could have been me . That has affected me for almost 2 days , I am shocked , and crushed by the thought of the sadness his family will have to endure . Cameron has changed my life , I will take a few seconds to look 2xs or 3 even to insure my safety and the safety of the people around me .

What a loss. Like many others, I only knew Cameron thru this site. To read of his death really shook me, and was a true AWAKENING.

I hope his wife and kids will someday take solace in the knowledge that not only was he an impressive, ambitious, gifted entrepreneur, but had the ability to inspire total strangers half a country away.

This tragic accident couldnt have happened to a better guy. a good freind of mine and fellow climber gave me a good piece of advice. he said every time he changes his TIP he says his wife or daughters name. kinda as a reinforcemant that if he dosent do this right he may not see them again.

I am still in awe as to this whole incident...i cannot believe it. I had never met with nor personally spoke with Cameron. Only had seen his posts here...im beside myself and feel for the family. He had two beautiful kids and a loving wife...as I derive from the pics. Im sorry for the loss.

I had posted before; yes....missed this and i think it is a FRICKING (insert other word) excellant idea. Will bring it up tomorrow morning. Also brings up the point of loading one before you detach from the other.

The editing was to add "thank you fordman"

I can't remember ever meeting Cameron at the TCI expos. I meet so many people at the shows it becomes a blur. Nonetheless it is wonderful to see all the support from his friends here. Obviously the man has touched a lot of peoples lives. Bless all.

The support our industry gives one another is absolutely amazing. From the posts here on the buzz and all of the Facebook things I have seen to honor Cam, everyone was affected by this man regardless if you've ever even met him.

Since the accident I have been contacted by a lot of you with requests as far as information about the funeral services and possible donations. I will share with you what I find out when I find out. I have made contact with Chrisy, Cameron's wife, and she told me that she has been checking in on the buzz and the support you all have showed has really helped.

Its hard not to feel, well, almost guilty....don't know why. What a shame. Hey Cameron, so you know you're in our hearts mate. Gone but not forgotten.

Continued condolences......i know the kind of pressure a company owner can be under: bills/overhead, selling the right amount of work, keeping equipment running, safety, dealing with the occasional unreasonable customer (or people in general....I remember Cam's story about his neighbor who hired someone else without even getting an estimate from him because "he has over a million in equipment.....he's got to be expensive") the irate person because you didn't call them back today because you finally made it to one of your kids sporting events....basically pressure from everywhere. Won't ever be able to shake this one....

Very sad news....condolences to all affected....

Shed a tear about this unfortunate story but also shed a tear seeing everyone reflecting on this sad,sad situation.

R.I.P

Didn't know cam personally but as many said great person huge loss condolences to friends workers and especially his family just doesn't seem fair never does.

Reg,i know what you mean brother! I was hanging out with my kids and another family later on Halloween evening ...It quite frankly felt sour....for obvious reasons......
Part of me feels like I just want to retire now...
Tough couple of days friends!!

My guys had a few low risk layup jobs yesterday. I made sure to communicate to them to watch every move; stepping into the roadway, getting near wires, anything. I only hope that we can all honor Cameron by being just a little safer each day. I haven't been able to post until now, just didn't know what to say. RIP TREE BROTHER.
