end of free speach signed into law by Obama

Re: end of free speech signed into law by Obama

Walk away from the big corps as much as possible.

Buying American is helpful to keeping the jobs here. Unfortunately it is not an option on everything. Where are Fords made? Last time I was in the market, I think I purchased a product that was assembled in Mexico. No clue where the parts came from. Much of our labor comes from countries where there isn't much to work with. Helping the fellow human maybe?

We get sucked in, mostly unknowingly, in contracts that are so sided, it would take a consult with an attorney to figure out the mortgage. Even the finance contract for a vehicle is a bit nutty.

So what do we consumers do? We get a kid to mow the lawn. I am sure he will pay his taxes. Use the landscape company to remove that tree. I am sure they have appropriate insurance and skills. Use the lowest bidder who says could you please make the check payable to John Doe and add "where is your bank exactly?" Move all our funds to electronic media so as to save time. Do you think it costs as much to process for a bank? Do we get a discount for being helpful to conserving their funds? I don't think these examples are exceptions, they are the rule. We all need to conserve our cash.

At the end of the day, one would be hard pressed for someone in the market for something not to ask "Is that the best you can do?" or think to themselves maybe I better get another few estimates.

Quality does speak volumes, but it isn't always what people are most interested in.

The corruption will continue until we decide it will NOT continue. LMK who to vote for.

Re: end of free speech signed into law by Obama

I'm serious about buying local, but buying American doesn't guarantee that what you bought is made in America. The world doesn't work that way anymore. Plus, it's a marketing technique and marketers will game the system to get that designation on a product. It just doesn't work.

Plus, if Japan makes something better and better is what you want, buy Japanese. If American craftsmanship is lacking on a particular product, who's fault is that? Am I just supposed to settle even though American business produced an inferior alternative? Screw that. Up your quality or down your price but don't expect me to support mediocrity just because it's got a made in USA label on it.

Taking the oath of office, and swearing to protect and defend the constitution of the US, cannot exclude those that very constitution was written to benefit, the citizens of our country. AKA constituents. The vast majority of which do not reside in Colombia, China, India or S Korea.

You cannot sell a US citizen's rights to the cheapest low wage foreign despot labor pools at pennies on the dollar.

And that's exactly what's happening today. But it will end, soon.

The logic of trading only with democracies that have equal or superior rights and labor standards as our own, is today, self-evident.

Our fathers did not fight and die bravely to empower communists and dictators worldwide.

Who are constituents? Americans? Or corp low labor pools toiling in misery for tyrants?

Who leads the world in union organizer murders folks?

Cute neck tie yu got there compadre.

Treehumper, the idea is that if we start with self and do what is right and proper in regard to our neighbors visa vie the poor.widows etc...that we will take care of society at the micro level and wont need the gov to do it ..the premis is that i can give to you and minister to you better directly....rather than have it filter through the beauracracy of Government down to those who need it!!
No one is talking about abdication of responsiblity....simply not passing it off to "the system"
I look at it as almost a cop out to say yah tax me more and then i dont ahve to sweat it...Let me keep more of what I make and then there is more to share with neighbors!!

Re: end of free speech signed into law by Obama

It took a govt to regulate the snot outta American corps and win two world wars against fascism.

Then it took a govt to determine our own veterans needed free education in colleges and pass the GI Scholars bill that so many of our fathers earned by sacrificing life and limb for country.

Social Security helped more people out of destitute poverty than all your sanctimonious self righteous churches combined Taitree.

History is what it is my friend, and no amount of tea imbibing will change it one iota.

Let me see, Raygun takes office in 81 with a Natnl debt of 900 billion. Then leaves office in 89 with a Natnl debt of 2.7 trillion.

And this is your heroic example of a great conservative US prez?

Crying wolf while selling us on astronomical star wars spending at the very time the USSR was in reality imploding!

Yeah, slick used car salesmen can do that!

Real patriotic presidents don't bad mouth their own govt's ineptitude out of one side of their mouth, while exhorting you to spend lavishly on security on credit out of the other side of their mouth.

Spending and debt exploded under the Raygun, and that's a documented historic fact to everyone except tea partiers who tend to suffer terrible bouts of selective amnesia.

Poor darlings.

jomoco,
i my humble opinion youare adding nothing to this discussion..you sound like a whiny brat. peoplemake long rebuttles and you dont respond you just seem to spew your drivel..it is really not very impressive ...just sayin
Im not an idiot, just because i say things start w the individual does not mean i think there is NO program that has ever been of worth...I am capable of thinking in shades of grey not just black and white..try not being sooo all or nothing...
From our founding there has been a debate over size and scope of government...I am not an anarchist for God's Sake... IMO we should ask as little as possible from them! (GOV) I know we need some regulation and such ....THIS IS NOT AN argument over all or NO REGULATION...simply how much and what type to be truely effective NOT serve special interests!!
