end of free speach signed into law by Obama

Re: end of free speech signed into law by Obama

It's not that I would disagree - it's that I just don't think that's what's going on in the video. I think the point is more or less - money is not the motivator for great things. It helps, of course, but more to the point, if people are not butt-tired from working hard just to survive - if they are paid a good wage but not a absurd amount, they find satisfaction in being part of a "bigger picture", part of community at large that strives for something better than is at present. Whether or not Steve Jobs/Apple is the devil is another topic. People like Jobs, Gates, Elon Musk do have visions (and more importantly, resources) that put them in a special place. I'm thinking this talk was geared more towards (in practical application) The Office or the Friends, or Battlestar Galactica crowd, us regular dudes who are looking around and saying, "Hey, is this all there is?" ...

peace,

Well said Poetmk.

I would venture that America's sovereignty, independence and citizens rights, are all actively being marginalized by a concerted collusive group of multinational corps and members of both our govt's political parties.

The things Reagan, bush,Clinton, bush and Obama have made legal courtesy of a corrupt congress and SCOTUS, have landed our children into a very real form of indentured servitude, much like a loan shark's victims that pay through the nose, but never come close to denting the principal their entire lives.

One old generation leaching off a younger generation and their children as well.

Not exactly a shining city on a hill so much as an institutionalized debtors prison run by multinational corps and corrupt govt actors.

It's far more than legislating free speech into tiny designated zones my friend, it's fascism defined here in America, and it can't be allowed to stand by any self respecting parent.

Re: end of free speech signed into law by Obama

Corporate slimeballs have it made! The sponsors of their their BS are NOT in a position to change anything. Those sponsors would be the consumers that purchase the stuff that allows them to be in their positions. They are perfectly able to modify whatever laws they see fit to improve their "right" to sell their BS. Make a good product and you may do as you wish. Get carried away with your margins and your business will and should fail. Make an apparently good product that is not really such a bargain and well, line up the lobbyists and get a good PR guy. Right now, this is what is working.

In the end, people are gullible in general. Easy to sell to. They want to be part of the greater good, so they participate.

High powered rifle shots could do a lot to fix the problem, but that isn't legal for the general population. Perfectly legal for those in charge. Who is going to make the decision about who gets in the crosshairs?

Don't buy the product!!!

Don't re-elect ANYONE! Force complete disclosure about ALL personal, business and financial transactions for each and every political position. Might as well include all their intimate details as well, because that is a pretty powerful driver. These people want to serve the people for the wrong reasons at the moment.

Stinking polititians. It used to be easier to identify the incumbents, they stopped letting me know on the ballots about 2 elections ago. They know we know.

As far as the soc-fasc-comm finger to point... Who cares what form it is, just get the stuff done that needs to be done in the best possible manner.

We need to get some kind of agreement about what it is that we need government to get accomplished before we assign the tasks. I thought that is what the constitution did. I don't think the authors would recognize what government has become as being supported by their document.

Personally I don't think I want them being assigned:

Anything to do with my personal health.

Anything to do with my personal lifestyle decisions.

Anything to do with my choice of what I say.

Anything to do with where my life goes.

Anything to do with how my life ends.

Anything to do with my money except to cover the things that I want them to do.

I want them assigned to:

Keep my environment safe - air, water and enough real estate to keep the life machines working to sufficient quantity - trees have EVERYTHING to do with this!

Keep the commerce and social instruments in good condition.

Education? I dunno.

Clean needles? I dunno.

Condoms? I dunno.

Farming? I dunno.

Social control through taxation? I dunno.

Regulation of industry? I dunno.

They certainly have decided their scope should be pretty huge already.

Re -read the staement!! its pretty simple and straight forward.....EVERYTHING ELSE IS BS....including most of what you post....Most of what you have posted looks /sounds like a patchwork quilt of other peoples staements and beliefs....Its almost as if you have no center and arent even quite sure WHAT you believe...In FACT several times you stated decidedly conservative values....and i thought "well thats a good step" then in the next sentence you bash similar ideas?? and im thinking this guy is all over the place....Any how ...enjoy the rest of your self important self indulgent waste of time....personally this thread has consumed far too much of my time already.....I question my own wisdom for hanging in so long,,,,
I have far more valuable things in which to invest time..

Re: end of free speech signed into law by Obama

This is why we should never discuss religion or politics. We all want the same things but see different ways of doing it and believe a different cast of charactes to be the problem.

In the end, it really isn't money alone that motivates the 90% of us with conscience as poekmk reminds us. Money does matter, but only at a degree of sufficiency. We can all see that.

Why can't we get to it? Because of the type of animal we are, a social but somewhat violent primate. And there are enough truly sociopathic people in the world to seriously harm the better process. I'm kind of cynical about our ability to collectively move forward on things that really work and stay the course. I don't want to be though.

I happened to come across this 2004 documentary called The Corporation. I watched it on Netflix but found it available on the internet linked below.

http://www.documentarytube.com/the-corporation-documentary-full-version

The premise of their argument is that the Corporation itself, as a legal person in law is one designed to act and respond exactly as a sociopath would. Lots of case studies and examples carving up the Corporation piece by piece. It's not unbiased so it will piss off some folks for sure.

It's 2 hours but worth it.

see this is what i mean this is pretty close to on point....i think what we do is let terms like"conservative" stand in the way..in the declaration of independence it says anytime the government over steps....we can/should throw off said government....is your answer more regulation and more government? If you believe what you posted here than how can MORE OF IT be good....? Should the power and coruption be dialed back ? if yes....that IS consevrative by definition!!!!! period.. what we are labeled as or what some of those players you mention try to co-opt the term to win votes is NOT!!! thank you for assisting me in makeing my point. WE actually agree....you just dont know what its called ....embrace your true identity /......MWahh ha ha ha!!!

Re: end of free speech signed into law by Obama

I suggest you watch Frax's link to The Corporation Taitree.

Then ask yourself who our founding fathers' decided to tax and regulate to fund the govt?

Then look at the US fron a historical perspective to determine what tax and trade policies stimulated the greatest middle class growth my friend?

And then which stimulated the greatest debt and disparity of wealth?

Drink in the objective truth Taitree. I'm confident you can do it mate!

Re: end of free speech signed into law by Obama

Unfortunately, governments the world over now serve the interests of Corporations, not citizens. This is the crux of the problem.

Once, the poor were pacified by the rich with the chant that "their reward will be in heaven".

Now, we hear that if we let Corporations die "we will all suffer". More scare tactics to pacify normal working people just trying to make ends meet.

If a Corporation is legally a person, then it can die. Even if a bunch of them die. Maybe a mass extinction of world's least fit sociopathic Corporations would not be a bad thing.

Re: end of free speech signed into law by Obama

The oft noted keen witted hum of Frax's light saber slices effortlessly through her opponent's obfuscations, all he hears is that curious hum fade as his head rolls upon the floor.

Not a lady to trifle with mates!
