Covid Close To You

Would you like to elaborate on specifically what information you believe to be inaccurate within this group's discussion.

For me, I find facts hold more weight than character deformations.
Kinda hard to take it seriously when folks like Ron Johnson and Peter McCullough are involved. About as credible as listening to Donald Trump question Rudy Giuliani concerning voter fraud and/or election integrity.

Remember the good old days of 95% effectiveness i.e. there's 20 chambers in the gun and one will have a bullet that will get you, wound or dead?

The Delta variant reduced the 95% to I think 1 in 11 of the single bullet getting you somehow.

Just because there's not absolute protection doesn't mean failure. Condoms break and leak and they're still used. Some people get injuries from seatbelts yet they are still used because they work most of the time for their intended purpose.

Reasonableness is positive thing, to my way of thinking. Extremism comes off with a bad taste whatever the particular extremism being practiced. Pushing extreme views harder kind makes one leave a worse impression, especially if flying in the face of or ignoring reason or going down the path of conspiracy and misinformation.

I flinch but take Daniel in stride because he's one of the collective family and hope for better times for him. I have another friend, a phd, who's popped a cog and is parroting extreme views in the face of reason but I'm cutting him slack too.

Kevin, best to you and yours.

I like all you tree swinging badasses regardless of differences in points of view, and I'll admit I'm guilty of being overly aggressive sometimes in my view points, which is why I've taken a step back from this thread lately and also to get back to the roots of why I am here, which is to be a part of this great arborist community.

We all likely have at least two things in common:

1. If you are here you likely have a passion and interest for trees / tree climbing / tree work.
2. We are all human beings with different feelings, life experiences, and opinions.

A discussion between two very intelligent and well informed
individuals lasting less than 20 minutes. Despite derogatory articles meant to discredit them, they actually do know what they are talking about.

Oddly enough I’ve equated mask wearing to condoms. In my mind it’s a great example, I rather give no fucks and go without (vax included) but it doesn’t really hurt me and it’s more about protecting my loved ones.

Guilt and bias based on association.....Dr. McCullough is the most published cardiologist in the field, only cites scientific studies and backs up everything he says with proven facts. We don't reject what people have to say based on ethnic origin, gender, etc., neither should we reject forums and discussions based on who organized it when we have been in such a political nightmare for quite a while now. I fully reject everything Trump stood for as all his business practices were proven corrupt. But I don't reject any Senator out of hand and have no idea why Johnson backed the former President.

I've spent hundreds of hours looking at this issue, got the first two shots and then got alarmed by the huge numbers of VAERS reports.

This is a good discussion with leading epidemiologists, one from Harvard, the other from Stanford that were maligned by some powers that be as fringe, and those making those slams were not qualified to judge them.

Quietly announced 900,000 USA covid dead just lately. 2x WW2. Any takers on the cool million?

Nothing to worry about here folks. Nothing to see. It's all good. Don't protect yourself. Especially the easy things to do.

In our neck of the woods there's a case of "It's all over now" "Open up back to normal". Guess we'll watch and see, sort of like we've been down this road before. Just finished a bout of cross shipping between ICU's from overfilling.

Latest headline is 90% of the truckers being vaccinated, the trucker associations being onboard and a small portion of the 10% non-vaccinated truckers putting up a stink and getting news coverage as if they represent the majority consensus. Now the fringe militants inserted themselves, weapons, confederate flags etc. Police are finally losing patience and starting to clean things up. Foreign influence/funding - yup/nope.

Large portions of country 85 to 90% vaccinated. Doing pretty good. I hope I don't have hear any more personal stories of people dying from covid.

Oh, what about the tennis guy in Australia who thought there was at least 100 or 150 professional athletes who dropped dead from getting vaccinated? What, that happened in today's environment?! I think his belief in his facts was misplaced. Or he picked up the story on the nano radios in his oversized balls cause someone slipped him some medicine, and it wasn't the good de-worming kind :)

The media has been cherry picking stories that fit their narrative. Unfortunately most of the major news outlets are owned by a few, such as Wapo owned by Bezos of Amazon who has made huge money in the unprecedented lockdowns. Pharma is highly profitable for the hedge funds and even the US government which has patents they make money on every drug and every shot. The FDA receives 45 percent of its annual budget [US$5.9 billion], from pharmaceutical companies. Covid is treatable early as the vips like Trump got and most others were told there was nothing that could be done for them early in the pandemic. Now the CDC is finally telling us that early drug treatments are acceptable, but only the mutagenic molnupiravir, the dangerous paxlovid and remdesivir, all very expensive. Just look at the fact sheets and side effects on those.

We were told that if you got covid there was nothing you could do but stay home until you were sick enough for an ICU. That is the reason the US had so many deaths, but the preponderance were those over 80 and/or those who had multiple co morbidities, obesity, diabetes, etc.. Nursing homes turned into incubators of sickness. Many other countries had much lower rates. And China opted out of the mRNA vaccines, Russia is using the Sputnik based on a traditional one of a dead virus.

Give it a month or two, we have seen substantial changes from the health authorities in the last year. Personally I would trust board certified doctors who are out in the field serving many actual patients than state bureaucrats. As for the truckers, their protests have been wholly peaceful, and you have to respect people who put themselves, their livelihoods and their wealth on the line to oppose basic human principles of bodily autonomy and fundamental human rights.

my office managers x husband's great niece was thirteen. she was vaxxed on January 28... found dead In bed February 3rd.

autopsy showed enlarged heart and died of heart attack...

coroner writes it down as pre-existing. not related to the vax

though she had a perfectly clean health history.

Family doesn't want to admit they just murdered her, so no VAERS report.

the kids great uncle is an anti vaxxer who tried to warn them.

that's got to be a terrible feeling... parents have it easier staying in denial.

Got my free gov issued covid tests in today. House hold of 4, two kits with two tests per kit that expire in 5 months, after two years in. Go team USA!

It's no the truckers.. Washington's ferry system is FUCKED. enough of their employees quit due to exposure risk, died, are anti maskers, or anti vaxers they are so short staffed they have cut routes. What use to be a 0 boat wait-1 boat wait in the off season pre-coivd is now a 2-3 boat wait. (the boats use to be every 30 min, and now are every hour)... Gotta get off the island? well, what use to be a .25 to .5 day event is now a 1 day event or even a sleep over in your car event if you miss it...

A child's heart attack caused by vaccination should be reported to the healthcare system and directly to the vaccine maker as this is something new they would be beyond critically interested in knowing. I'm confident you've already done that in the interest of public good.

Reasoning out the significance of this, if 899,999 more cases of death caused by vaccine were reported, I'd have to acknowledge it as at least as important as the chance of dying from the disease. It would elevate the concern level to Meh, 50/50 I could get the shot or not. Numbers might not be exact. Now if far more people started dieing from vaccination than from the disease that would seriously get my attention to the point where I'd feel it was important to issue some sort of warning about the vaccine being the dangerous option. And that's just the selfish view. Anybody would feel like a real tool if they found out they killed someone else by giving them covid. Vaccination drastically reduces the chances of you killing someone else, perhaps close and dear to you.

It just doesn't seem to be playing out that way right now re vaccination caused deaths. Unvaccinated people are still doing most of the dieing. Imperfect vaccine protection plays a role but doesn't affect the overall picture.

So... is the science of mask effectiveness settled? Has it been worth the anger and polarity of defending the science?
